"Yikes," Hellister said hearing the wolf. "I hope we don't end up as dog food out here."

Hellister broke the ground with the shovel. He continued to dig and continued until he was sweaty and tired.

Alas, his shovel hit something hard, the casket. He worked now with motivation until he had the entire thing uncovered.,

"Well there captain, your father is undug but I have yet to see the ark. It would not fit in his casket, yet I am tempted to open the thing for clues. It coiuld still be under him I suppose. Should we see what time has done to your father?"

The captain nodded, wanting to open the casket. It wouldn't be too bad opening it would it?

"Yeah, lets have a peek and see." He said, giving a grin. Where would it be? He was told it would be here....

Hellister jammed his shovel tip into the casket. He pried with all his might until the lid swung open in a cloud of dust and moths.

Instead of the putrid smell of death and rot, a scent of rosmary instead struck his nose.

Hellister looked down surprised to find that the casket was stuffed with nothing but Rosemary.

"Why Captain, it seems we have a number of possibilities, One....the ark has some reanimation abilities and your father has taken advantage of them.

Two...You lied about this entire ordeal, for what purpose I do not know.

Three....Your father never truly died and took the ark for himself and merely faked his death to be off with the world greatest treasure.

Four.......A group of poor people ate your father's body.

Now which is it Captain?"

Hellister said quite disturbed.

Sabastain looked at horrified at the man standing before him. Where the hell was his father's body? Who's body was that then that they buried in the sea? Did his father really lie?

"I don't know...I just don't know. It's supposed to be here..."

Hellister bent down and examined the casket. On the lid he found something that shocked him, yet he expected it,. The tell tell signs of scratch marks.

"It is as I suspected. Your father did die Captain, and you did bury him at sea. Yet, the ark is so powerful that one who posesses it can cheat death. Your father has reached immortality, so as long as he retains the ark for himself. I can not asky you to betray your father and find him so I can take it for myself. thus, this part of our quest is ended."

Hellister paused, "However, we still pledged to avenge your father's death. We have a man to kill and no reward for it. Lets us begin that journey now."

"I suppose not," Hellister said, "At least if you wanted the ark for yourself. But you should be happy your father is alive. Though in what state I do not know. He could be very disgusting to gaze eyes upon."

Hellister took a dagger from his boot. "Now we must kill, or suffer the consquences of going back on a sacred promise made to a spirit. That I do not wish to do."

"Follow me," Hellister said, "We will go to the tavern and try to get information about the man that murdered your father before he was re-animated. Chances are, he is looking for your father as well."

Sabastian made a nod. It was true, there was no point going back on your word in the spirit world or else face what would be coming to you once you died.

"Aye, it be true my friend I do wish to be keepin' a promise," he said, making a cross over the front of himself. "I don't be wantin' to get damned any time soon, lease I be wanting to see the sea before I die. That is the way to go."

Placing his gun back into the holster and checking his sword, he gave the final nod.

"I be ready mate."

Hellister slapped the captain on the back, "you must feel like a fish out of water in this God forsaken desert. Don't worry Captain, you will see the sea again. Perhaps, one day I will sail with you. Perhaps, I'm tired of this town."

hellister began walking dust floating off of his hair and boots, "but like you said captain, we've got a man to kill. To the tavern."

"I love you" he said at her lifeless body. Expecting her to somehow hear him. He saw the other people their. He wouldnt let them know who he was. So he simply bent his head down looking at Elaina's face. He crept to an empty place. He gently laid her on the ground. He then slowly took a nearby shovel. He then started to dig.

Elaina sighed softly as she appeared just in time to hear Nigel tell her lifeless body that he lover her. Those words, no matter who had ever spoken them to her, had always made her afraid of something, but she wasn't sure what. Mabey it was commitment, mabey it was love itself, but something held her back from it.

Elaina watched quietly as Nigel began to dig her grave. Marius didn't have that kind of respect for her apparently, considering he didn't look like he cared about anything but the damn mayor.

Why was she so stupid? Nigel loved her and was open about it. Marius never really told her that unless she was in danger. In fact, Marius only really like to talk about business with her. In the end it drove her crazy. Elaina had begun to think that Marius didn't REALLY love her, and Nigel probably wouldn't take her back after what she did. Her solution was to die.

But something went unsettled. Elaina's spirit wasn't truly happy when she died. Her eyes returned to Nigel, who was still digging. Elaina walked up next to him quietly. She didn't think that she could say anything for once.

Nigel finished the digging. He let out a sigh of relief. He then picked up Elaina's and placed his gently into the grave. "I'm sorry for what I'm about to do" He said as he stood up straight. He pulled out his revolver and fired one shell into Elaina's stomach. No blood came out but the wound could still be seen. He had to lure Marius to him. So he could finish this. "you'll see why I did this later." Nigel then walked away. Without saying a prayer or a blessing. He could never do that for a traitor and a attempted murderer.

Elaina watched, wide-eyes as Nigel shot her body. No, blood didn't spill, but still, it was her body. She dropped to her knees and watched in shock. "Stop it! Stop!" she shouted. She clawed at the dirt, but was unsuccessful. "NIIIIGELLL!" Elaina shouted. If she could cry real tears she would be, but she found herself in capable. He said he loved her, and to be truely happy she couldn't have that. Elaina followed him quietly, angered that he would do that.

No one could love you then use your damn body as bait for their brother. Things didn't work that way. What a one sided realtionship that would be. "Nigel... talk to me." she said, trying to calm herself. "Why did you do that?" she asked. Elaina didn't neccissarily mean shoot her body, she meant why did he say I love you before it, but he probably wouldn't get it. "How could you do that?" She asked. Besides the fact that she betray him for Marius, and had turned her back on the very dream that she had wanted forever.

Elaina stopped dead in her tracks (no pun intended). Was that really the life that she had wanted then? Probably not. She was lonely, confused, and broken down. Losing her job made her crack. Elaina needed to be a detective. Watching Nigel walk away like that, nothing said, nothing gained, nothing given, it made her feel emptier than she already was.

"Nigel. Wait. Please." Elaina said finally. She hoped he would react to it. She wouldn't beg him. No way. That wasn't her style. But it was within her to ask politely.

"I thought you were gone" Nigel said as he stopped. "I had to do this I have something to finish." He turned and looked at Elaina. "my brother has taken 2 lifes from me two people I cared for and I cant forgive him for that." He then looked at the ground. "I knew in a straight forward attack that he would kill me so I need to enrage him to blind him"

Elaina nodded as he spoke. "Okay, yeah. I could have guessed that much." she said uneasily. "Blind him, beat him. whatever. Who really cares anymore?" she added. Elaina looked to Nigel with her head tilted.

"I mean...WHY would YOU do that?" Elaina tried to emphisize as much as she could. But she wasn't sure that he got it quite yet. Knowing Nigel he would go on to explain why he had to do something or other. Elaina lowered her voice slightly, "You said the..." she looked around as if checking for other people. "The L-word." she finished in a whisper.
