Wesley wanted to laugh and cry at the same time. He wasn't quite sure why.

"I..." he said, but his speech faltered yet again.
"Maybe I will come, a little later. I don't know. I have to think about it. I'm... not sure I can."

In case he didn't, there was something else he wanted to say.

"Alex, I want to thank you. For all that you've done for me," he said slowly, choosing his words carefully.
"It's hard to explain, but... I'm glad that I loved you... I mean, love you, I still do...even though it had to end like this."

"Maybe I will come, a little later. I don't know. I have to think about it. I'm... not sure I can."

"Well..." Alex started softly. She understood what he was saying. "Just think about it." she said finally. She didn't want all the options to be closed. Alex could still be his friend. Kind of like Cyril and Draegan were friends.

"Alex, I want to thank you. For all that you've done for me," he said slowly, choosing his words carefully.

Alexandrea smiled, "You're welcome, Wesley. But you did a lot for me too, more than you know. But, Wes... you know... I thought for a moment there, and let's not consider this and end to us." she said hopfully. "Not yet anyways. It's not like I can't EVER be around you..."

(OOC: Interesting comparison there... tongue)

"Not yet anyways. It's not like I can't EVER be around you..."

"Yeah, I know," Wesley said softly. He tried to say more, but he couldn't. All that could be said had been said. There was no need for redudancy.

Alexandrea nodded. Finally, after a moment or so of silence Alex hugged him tight. "I should get to the ball." Alex said before letting go of him. "Please consider going." she said as she stood up from the pew. Alex smiled, "I'll miss you." she added. Alex kissed his cheek then began to walk toward the door.

"I should get to the ball."

Wesley nodded silently and reluctantly forced himself to allow his arms to let her go when she broke the hug, knowing that it could very well be the last time she was in his arms.

He stood up as she did and put his hands in his pockets.

"I'll miss you."

"I'll miss you, too," he said. More than you might know, he thought. "Please be careful. Goodbye."
He stood there and watched her walk out, feeling as if a part of him went with her.

After awhile, he walked out the door to find Jamie. (OOC: Who is still there, no?)
"Thank you for sitting with me," Wesley said, forcing a smile. "I'm going to go lay down for a while, and maybe I will see you at the ball if I feel up to it."
He gave a nod in place of a farewell and walked away from the church.

"Alrighty. Take care, Wesley. I hope you feel better tomorrow," Jamie said, who up until then had been content just standing in the silence and enjoying the evening as only a poet can. He stood up from where he had sunk against the wall, grabbed his bottles of wine and set off to get dressed for the ball.

"Doc, you ought to be in bed, what the hell you doin' this for anyway?"
"Wyatt Earp is my friend."
"Hell, I've got plenty of friends."
"I don't."
