From where she stood on a sand hill, she could see lots more sand. And somehow she was still surprise at the vast amount of land it covered. It somehow frightened her that there could be so many little pieces.

Sydney sat cross-legged in the middle of the desert, holding her pistol at her side and fifty pages of parchment in her hand. The vast emptiness of the desert was almost as good as the cemetary, and far more frightening. She had the pistol in case of rattlesnakes, or, dare she say it, giant worms.

No matter how fast light travels it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it. My great day came and went, I do not know how. Because it did not pass through dawn when it came, nor through dusk when it went. I don't know how long it's been, but I know I awoke in a void, a vast emptiness that had no walls, but still managed to echo. There were many of my inner demons there, and I was armed with nothing but my

She sat there, tapping her chin with her finger. What would someone fighting their inner demons be armed with? This was a difficult one, for sure...

She was horrified when she noticed a person actually sitting far deeper in the desert than she had even ventured. She fliched back, it took her a moment to even realize she was frightened. She was determined not to let her newly found fear get the best of her, she romised herself she'd walk right up to that sitting lady and demand to know what she could be doing in such a terrifying place.
So she did. It took her ten minutes to even begin to approach the lady, but as soon as she did arrive she felt instant pride. "May I ask what you're doing out in sands like this?" she asked quickly.

Sydney's papers went flying into the air, and she jumped about 2 feet, letting out a small shouting noise at the sound of someone else's voice. She spun around and accidentally let her gun go sailing 2 feet away from her jittering hands, firing off a shot when it hit the ground 10 yards later. She calmed down when she saw that it was just a person, and swallowed hard.
"G... God, don't sneak up on me like that!" she said, her shivering voice reflecting her startled state.

Tara smiled, she was happy she wasn't the only frightened one in this area. "I'm sorry?" she asked, then abruptly began laughing until she fell onto the soft sand when she heard the gun shot go off.

Sydney felt her knees begin to buckle, and she bit her lip. The woman didn't seem hurt, but she might have been just as startled as her... She walked over to her, and tapped her twice on the shoulder.
"Uhh... Are... Are you okay, miss?" she asked tenderly, being careful in case she tried to bite Sydney's hand off. In this town, she wouldn't put it past someone to try.

Tara stopped laughing as quickly as she had started. "Me?" she asked confused, "Oh, I'm perfectly fine." she stood up dusting herself off, "You should be careful with a weapon. You could have been hurt." She moved towards the pistol and lifted it up, "Here."

Sydney was relived, happy that nobody was hurt.
"Just in case of snakes, I hear that they're all over this desert. You know what I mean?" she said, a slight smile pulling at the corner of her mouth.
"Sorry about that, it's just... A little unnerving here. My name is Sydney Lancaster, and you are...?"

"Snakes don't scare me, they're simple and easy." She said with a shrug. "I'm Tara Myndh. What are you doing out here?"

"Pleased to meet you, Tara. I'm looking for inspiration, as odd as that sounds. Writing a book, you see." Sydney said, quite simply.
"What about you? Why are you out in the middle of nowhere?"

"Inpiration. Sounds advetureous. Almost daring even." Tara stooped down and grabbed a handful of sand, "I'm exploring. Trying to figure out this town and the strange feeling that surrounds it."

"Strange fee- that's it! You're a genius, thank you!" Sydney exclaimed, and snatched up the unfinished paper. She grabbed her pen from the ground, and held the paper against her leg, writing frantically.

There were many of my inner demons there, and I was armed with nothing but my strangest emotions. A world of feelings, in the form of a small orb in my palm. The demon of doubt, an indescribably depressing cloud of mist, moved in on me. But as it approached, my righteous anger at Tony flew out of it, connecting head-on with the beast.

Sydney tapped her chin again, thinking deeply about what demon to attack next.

Tara blinked as she watched her newly met aquaintance scribble furiously against her paper. Not to disrupt her thoughts she waited until after Sydney finished her writing to say, "You're welcome?"

"My thanks, you've gotten the ball rolling... Ya may have just made my career." Sydney said, her face split open in a wide grin. Not only are the people creative geniuses and the settings deeply disturbing, but somehow it felt... Right, completely and utterly. She loved it here, as odd as that sounded.

"Made your career?" she raises her eyebrow questioningly, "Shouldn't I recieve something for that?" Then she quickly starts laughing and says, "Joking, just playin'. I don't need anything. What's your book about?"
