-Aegis laughed, and ran towards the worms mouth. About a yard in front of its mouth, he leaped into the air. As he fell, the worm flexed its many tongues, flicking them out at him. Jamie was still firing into the mouth, and Aegis had to watch for the shots-he could get hit himself.-

"Hrra!"

-He brought his sword down as hard as he could onto one of the tongues, but the blow glanced off; Aegis bounced with the force, and flew higher still into the air. He grunted. But it wasn't over.-

"It's not as easy as it looks, is it, Jamie?" he yelled back to his companion.

"Did it really look that easy to begin with?" Jamie had to ask as he continued to fire slow shots. He stopped momentarily to reload his shotgun.

-Aegis laughed, and propelled himself towards the worm's many tongues again. This time, though, he doged them-and went strait for the jaw. He landed on his feet with a thud.-

"This ough to do it!"

-Aegis reared up, brought his sword into a stabbing stance, and brought it down with astonishing force. But all the blow did was glance off, and Aegis' sword was forced out of his hand...and into the worm's giant, gaping mouth.-

"excrement!"

-He then ran as fast as he could outwards from it, but too late-the worm caught notice. It lashed a humongous tongue out at him, and it hit exactly on the back of his neck. Aegis fell to the sand, unconcious.-

Jamie finally dropped the package and dragged Aegis out of the way of attack.
"Maybe running was the better idea. How do I outrun this thing dragging a person with me?"
he wondered aloud.
Thinking quick, he dropped Aegis, grabbed his stuff and began to run the other way. The worm, by instinct, chased him.

Oliver was out wandering in the desert only hafe sober. He pulled his shot gun and fired at the giant worm. His vision was still off by quite a bit so he missed the worm by 5 or so feet. It distracted the beast making it mad enought to start chaseing him.

"Oh great." He said.

Volupchewus in her underground lair felt the frantic vibration of the large unfamiliar worm.

The large worm that was attacking Jamie and Aegis was quite different than volupchewus. It must have been another mutated offspring of the flying sandworms

It was competition. And Volupchewus up to this point had never met anything as big as her in the desert.

Volupchewus bolted to the surface like a bullet throwing sand everywhere. The other worms movements threw Volupchewus into an attacking frenzy and she plowed into the other worm and bit it in the center and shook trying to tear it in half.

Jamie stopped, breathing hard, and watched the scene.
"Wow. That's not something you see every day," he said. He ran back to Aegis and his package, then looked at the man who had came into sight,
"Hey, you there! How far is the town from here, and would you be willing to help me drag this unconcious man and this package the rest of the way? We probably don't have much time."

Volupchewus did not let go of the worm. In a move usually reserved fro alligators and crocodiles, Volupchewus did a death roll and twisted the other worm in two.

The One of the worms halfs began attacking jamie and aegis with what life energy it had left.

Jamie winced with disgust as the half worm began moving towards them, leaving a grisly trail of worm innards. Luckily, it was slower than it had been before. He looked again at Oliver.
"Please?"

Oliver looked down to his bottle and let it drop to the ground. He made his way over to the two man an grabbed the unconscience man and threw him on his shoulder and begain to walk away from the worms.

"You owe me a drink boy." He said. He threw the boy his shot gun "Hold onto that for me."

"Thank you, and I'll get you that drink. Don't worry," Jamie assured. He caught the shotgun and then began to drag Aegis's package, following Oliver.

Oliver watched as the sand pasted below him. He looked up and could see the town just ahead of him. He put the man on his shoulder gently on to the ground.

"Okay." He said. He seemed to be completly sober now. "Now about my drink." He said.

"Yes, yes, your drink. Along what lines were you thinking? Rum? Whiskey? Beer? Wine? For I most likely cannot afford the latter," Jamie admitted, laying the package on the ground beside Aegis.
