In the pitch black darkness and surrounded by flesh-eating worms, Larghetto had to restrain himself from reaching for his gun. He wasn't sure he even had one with him. It didn't matter. He would never use it against them anyway. After getting the worm off of his leg, he began to head towards the escape, but tripped and fell in the darkness. He quickly pulled himself up.
"I don't know if I'm going to make it out of this one," he thought aloud with sincerity.

The worms began to close on LArghetto. Thjere pink gooey mouths oozed in anticipation of the supple Fremch flesh.

Suddenly, the ground below Larghetto opened up. The great worm Volupchewus popped out of the opening once again grabbing Larghetto softy by the leg and submerging him many layers below where he once stood.

Larghetto went down layer after layer until the Earth's crust turned very rocky and crag like. Finally, Volupchewus entered a rock dome shaped room that could fit a mansion inside of it.

Volupchewus released Larghetto once inside the room. In the center of the room an odd sphere shaped rock glowed illuminating the underground chamber.

The light focused on a statue carved out of pure rock that stood ten feet high. The statue mimicked Larghetto in every porportion and angle. In fact, It was an exact copy of Larghetto. But who could have cvarved such a thing? Surely not a worm.

A voice emitted from somehwere and nowhere, "You have come," it said to Larghetto.

"You must feed the little ones every hour or else they will die," the light focused on thousands of tiny worms a centimeter in length that were clinging around the cave walls.

"Feed them each with this," The light shown upon a tiny eye dropper placed on a rock.

Next the light swung around and illuminated a vat of goo, "They need but a drop of this." the voice said and then dimly cast itself on the entire room again.

Larghetto wasn't sure if he was hallucinating or dreaming or truly experiencing this. Maybe he was already dead. He slowly walked towards the eye dropper and picked it up, then looked around at the thousands of worms on the wall.
"Are you kidding? As soon as I finish feeding all of them, I'll have to start over again..." he twitched uneasily, then began on the work he was assigned.

Sydney had absolutely no idea what was going on. She didn’t have her glasses, she could barely see, and everything was just a blur of people running about, squishy noises, and sand under her left foot- one of her shoes had come off a while back. Soon enough, the disorienting blur was replaced by a freakish amount of pain, and she grabbed at her ear, shouting inaudible words that one may or may not have mistaken for a particularly old Latin dialect. She yanked out a small worm from her ear by the tail, and frantically started trying to pull it out of her head, the same incomprehensible slur of words flying from her mouth like a river of strangely-pronounced water molecules.

Jean stopped when she heard Sydney yelling something.

"What?! What is wrong with you," Jean said with a lot of panic and a trace of anger in her voice.

Jean took another match out of her purse and lit it and saw Sydney holding a tiny bloody worm by the tail.

"Nasty!," Jean said flinging the worm out of Sydney's hand and to the ground where she proceeded to squish it.

Jean noticed in the dim light that Sydney had lost her glassess.

Jean looked down on the ground to see if they were there when....

The great worm Volupchewus broke the ground beneath Jean and Sydney from a side shaft below them. The fall would have only been a few feet, however, the worm had previously dug a vertical shaft directly below them sending the duo plummetting down hundreds of feet into the room Larghetto was in.

The worm, who had part of her body in the side tunnel, and her head and neck with no support over the vertical tunnel, merely pulled her entire body into the side tunnel to avoid the plummett.

Jean and sydney ended up falling into a large vat filled with goo. The goo was the same as what Larghetto was now feeding the worms. This vat, however, was larger than the one Larghetto was now dipping out of. It was 12 feet high of smooth steel. The Goo, thick enough to safely break there fall , rose to abnout four feet tall in the vat. The vat had a radius of 10 feet, thus from each wall was about twenty feet.

At the bottom of the goo, which Sydney and Jean's feet now touched, were hard items such as dissolving skulls, bones, watches, etc.

The vat was in fact some type of brewing or fermenting tank. The goo was not as pure yet as the stuff Larghetto was now feeding the worms.

But in days? months? possibly years the brew would be done.

But who made such a thing? Why were they providing food for the worms? And will the duo escape it before they too are turned to mush after starving to death or worse....

Jean hit the goo sending it splattering on the sides of her confinement.

She stood up in the container and gagged at the smell of the slime.

Jean began to get frantic when she realised she was enclosed and began to bang on the container.

"Help!" she screamed.

Sydney landed in the goo gracelessly, and struggled to her feet, slipping a couple of times in the horribly stinky… What was this, anyways? She still had absolutely no idea where she was, or what she was in, due to the fact that her glasses were distinctly missing. She blindly felt around, her hands out in front of her, until they finally met cold metal. She shivered, and drew back, rubbing at her eyes with the patch of her forearm that wasn’t covered in goo. “J-Jean? Where are we?” she stammered.

The glowing stone once again directed its light for Larghetto.

This time the stone illuminated the large conatiner that was now the home of Syndey and Jean.

"Ignore all noises coming from the receptacle," the voice said.

"Continue feeding the worms . Make haste."

Larghetto wasn't sure what was going on anymore, and decided to just do what the big voice told him to. He was certain that if he ever got out of this he would never be the same again.
"Maybe this is some kind of nightmare. Or maybe I'm in a coma. But you're not supposed to have dreams in a coma," he said aloud.

Jean went to the side of the metal drum to bang against it when her toe, you see her shoe were knocked off in the fall, hit something light and smooth.

Jean reached elbow deep in the slime and picked out Sydney's glasses. She walked back over to her nurse maid and set them on her face forgetting completely to remove the slime from the lenses.

Jean went back to the drum side and smashed on it. It made a dull thunping sound.

"Please!," Jean screamed in a shrill voice, "Is there anyone out there."

"Mon dieu, JE DETESTE CECI!" Larghetto cried after hearing the pleas and finishing admitting food to a worm. He proceeded to jump up loudly and kick the floor several times. He ran to the container, tears burning his eyes, and pounded on it before kicking it several times and leaning his head against it.
"Je deteste ceci!" he repeated. "What can I do? I just want to go. I just want to get out of here. I want to take Fermata and leave forever. What can I do? How can I help you? Je ne sais pas..."

Jean heard the familir voice.

"Is that you Larghetto? Oh thank God. Can you stack some rocks or something and climb up to the edge of the container?"

"Please! it is so gross in here. And my baby!"

Sydney felt hope stir a little bit at the return of her glasses, she wiped the gook from them quickly and blinked around at… The giant steel pot they were both trapped inside.
Hope let out another postmortem twitch, and went still once again.
Sydney flicked the goop from her hands, and pressed her palms against the side of her head out of stress. She just wanted to get out of here, to wake up from whatever nightmare this was. It was dark, it was slimy, it was enclosed, and it was generally a worst-case scenario. But still, even though there was nothing she could really do but stand there, she’d help in any way she could.

Larghetto regained some of his senses and began to walk around the vat, looking for some way to reach the inside. Finally, he found some footholds on the side.
"Well, that's convienient. As if they were put there for me," he said quietly. He carefully made his way up before just barely being able to peak up over the side.
"What is this stuff? What is going on?"
