"I thought there were two more acts left," said Scott, a little crestfallen. He looked down at the program that lay opened on his lap. "There's...Kuro..and..Rena. Where are they anyway?" He looked at the stage. It had been empty for a while. Maybe it was intermission or somethinb but this sure was a long intermission.

Adrian smirked. She knew Scott. He was obviously torn between his thoughts, and then his expression changed as his mind changed course. No doubt it was him, to be sure. "Yeah, they should be on at any second. But I thought you wanted to leave?"

"No what I meant was..umm..I'll just come with you to meet your fiance but I won't talk to her after the show is done," he said, trying to explain the misunderstanding.

Adrian sighed, and let her smile drop. "Sure. Okay. Just... Scott..." she said, and turned completely to face him, locking her eyes with his. She put her hand on his shoulder firmly, but not demandingly. "Remember. I'm your sister, and I love you. You don't have to hide anything from me, and you're still my brother, no matter what you do in life. If you like this girl, really, keep in mind that I don't think any less of you."

"You're serious?" he asked Andy, his eyebrow raised. "I never imagined you would have said that."

Adrian felt the smile return to her face, and she nodded at Scott. "That's because I normally would never say it." she said, and took her hand off of his shoulder, letting it fall limply into her lap. "Just remember what I said, because it'll always stay true."

"Just because a girl looks beautiful, doesn't mean she's stupid on the inside. Except for..." she said, spotting Elaina in the crowd. She frowned, and nodded, narrowing her eyes. "Except for Elaina West. That girl's not only a completely idiotic bimbo, but she also seems to have the mental stability of a rabid beaver." she said, just loud enough so that the girl would hear, but not loud enough so that she would appear to be shouting. "But seriously, how will you know until you try?"

"She's too pretty for a guy like me. And her voice..it's amazing," he said. "No..I'll just..find someone else. Maybe."

"Scott, do you have any idea how astoundingly stupid you sound right now?" Adrian said, and shook her head. "Too pretty? Too amazing? Scott, that's an attitude that's going to land you with someone who looks like they've gone through a meat grinder, and sounds like they've swallowed a cat. You've gotta get a little bit of self-respect before it's too late."

"You don't know what it's like to be hurt with the girl you thought that you would be with for the rest of your life," said Scott. "You don't..have my memories. I can't explain."

"Well, you've just gotta... Wait, what?" she said, and turned to face Scott. "Scott? What do you mean?" she asked, genuinely concerned about her brother.

"Nothing..it doesn't matter," he said, closing the program in his lap and looking at the stage again expectantly.

"No, it's not nothing. Scott, what are you talking about? What do you remember?" she asked, persisting for an answer. She wouldn't let him just blow this off, at least, not while she was still breathing.

Scott turned to Andy and sighed. "There was this girl..I met her in college through my best guy friend. He kind of set us up on a double date and I asked her to be my girlfriend because I thought she was fun. I ended up falling for her. We even got engaged...but we never got married. And you know why, Andy? Because she was afraid. She was afraid to be with me. So she broke it off..and then she ran off with another guy."
