"If you say so," Jamie said. He kept close to Sicilia as he walked, not entirely sure why Hellister was in the mine in the first place.
"Well, they couldn't possibly be too far ahead."

Larghetto, who had been walking to the mine, presumably with Jean, stopped at the sound of voices. He glanced over his shoulder.
"Is that you, Jamie? I thought you weren't coming," he said. "And 'Cilia? And Hellister, too?"

Marius looked around at all the people here. Why would so many people want to go to the mine now. It seemed as if this only made the situation alittle more dangerous. Marius turned to Sicilia he quickly walked in front of her.

"Excuse me ma'am me and my associates are working on keeping the mine safe and we would like for you to clear the area" Marius said giving her a polite smile. Sicilia was the last thing that Marius needed in the mines. Another vunerable person that Mr. Jones could possible keep hostage. I mean Jean Hallow was someone Marius could keep an eye on. However Marius was unsure if he could keep the two safe at the same time. He would also have to worry about Larghetto he seemed weaker then most of the others as well.

Hellister walked up to Marius who seemed to be dictating orders to one of his crew.

"Excuse me," Hellister said standing near Marius who was much taller and had a more muscular and broader build than hellister, "We are here on official business."

Hellister held out his flowers that he had taken off ot the table at the bar.

"I am here to go one a blind date with the vigilante they call Eva. Based on her friends description of her, a man name Elliot, she is supposed to be compatible with me."

Hellister could see in the dark thanks to his bite from Karry. The torch he held was mostly for the comfort of his crew.

Hellister looked deep at Marius, "What could this group be doing in here that is more important than love? Love my friend, is what makes the world go around."

Carlos stopped digging around in the rocks when he heard the voices enter the mine.

He walked to where the commotion was and saw a group of three silly looking people.

Carlos spoke to Marius and Eva, "Captains, in Mexico we call this a Circus, should the Rooster kill these clowns?"

Carlos pointed his long thin knife at Hellister, Sicilia, and Jamie.

"Funny you should mention being told to go here...there's a serial killer down there that lures people down here to murder people in these mines...we're the clauden militia here to stop them" Marius said a confident smile formed on his face. He was sure that since the majority of the people were civilians that they would be no problem to scare away. If they diddnt Marius might deliver a warning shot. He wasn't necessarily worried about Hellister although he was bigger. Marius already had his hand in his pocket gripping the end of his revolver.

"Carlos dont bother you need to save your energy" Marius said coldly trying to be as intimidating as possible.

Carlos pook his knife back in his sash, "I let you gringos go for now then" Carlos said with a smile.

"Not much honor in killing puny gringos anyway. The Rooster only likes to kill those with passion.""

Hellister laughed. "I never heard of any militia in these parts."

"Besides, no one told me to come in here," Helister said completely ingoring the threat by Carlos or the demand by Marius, "I came because I am on a date. "

Hellister used his night vision and spotted the one who must be Eva. He walked past the others and presented Eva with the flowers he had swiped from the tavern.

"I am on a date with her, Eva." Hellister handed the flowers to Eva.

Sicilia had took a step backwards when Marius had stepped in front of her. She looked around the two men at Larghetto. "Yeah, it's me. I came with Jaime to make sure you were okay," she said.

She jumped away from Carlos when he pulled out his knife. "You slimy creature. I was on the hill with you guys when you started this Vigilante thing," she scoffed not enjoying being threatened by someone.

Her hand had slightly twitched for the revolver at her side. It was the revolver given to her as a wedding gift. When she had left with Isabella she took it with her to get better at shooting and aiming. She was pretty decent now, but she relaxed as the "Rooster" put his knife away.

"I don't understand why all your memories are fading about 'Cilia. She can help. And I'm sure that Jamesy will do what he can, too," Larghetto said. "Although I'm not sure if this is the best time for this."
He turned to Hellister, smiling in a friendly manner.

Eva, bewildered, looked back and forth between the people around her. Her gaze fell on the flowers and she shook her head.
"Elliot? Byer? That doctor, again? You've got to be kidding me!" she exclaimed. "Listen, whether or not we're compatible or not, I don't understand how you can possible call this a date. I have business down here, and now is definitely not the time for courting. Did that doctor tell you that I would be down here? Is he spying on me or something?"

"Yes," Hellister said. "The doctor did tell me you would be down here. Let us get on with this date then." Hellister said giving Eva the flowers.

"I didn't know this was going to be a group date," Hellister said looking at Marius and the others.

"So can I get you anything while we look for whatever we are looking for?"

Hellister looked around in the mines. "What are you guys doing in here anyway with one of the lockups from the jail?"

Jean moved near Larghetto.

"For one we are looking for my husband Clay."

Jean started to cry, "We believe his remains might be down here, so help us God."

"Elliot said nothing about her being in the mines, Hellister. He said she may have been involved with what was going on at the jail. You didn't know where to find Eva until Jaime told me of Larghetto's well-being and whereabouts. No need to make Ms. Eva feel as though Dr. Elliot were stalking her," Sicilia sighed.

She looked up at Larghetto. "I'm sorry, I just wanted to make sure you were okay. After all the mines are dangerous."

And I don't much trust that Rooster, or this man he calls captain.

Her eyes turned to Jean Hallow whom she had never rightly seen before. She had met Clay a couple of times, and most definately had the unpleasantry of running into their son every Halloween.

"Looking for your husband? Shouldn't he have been up in the jail?" she questioned.

"Really? You were worried about me?" Larghetto said. He looked around at the group briefly. "I'll explain to 'Cilia. Meanwhile, we should probably keep moving to... wherever it is where we're going." He smiled and put a hand on Jean's shoulder, leading her back to where Jamie and Sicilia were.
"I'm not exactly sure who or what the thing posing as the sheriff man was, but it certainly wasn't him." He lowered his voice. "The whole reason for being down here is pretty hazy, but some of this group seems pretty shady. Be on your guard. I don't want you getting hurt."
