"If you killed him, I swear..." Eva trailed off, not loosening her grasp on Carlos. "Damn." She looked in the general direction of the rest of the crowd. "Hey, you!" she said to no one in particular. "Get over here!"

Sicilia nodded to Larghetto and crept over next to Jaime. She watched as Larghetto ran after Jean and called before he was too far out of hear shot, "Be careful!"

She then turned her attention to the other scene that was going on. The scene that distracted everyone else of Jean's disappearance. Sicilia walked over to Eve unsure who she was talking to. "Yes?"

Hellister was dumfounded. The date was not going well at all. Here he had brought this woman Eva a entire bouquet and now she was hugging another man.

"Oh whate dreaded luck I have with women," Hellister said very loud.

"I bring Eva these wonderful flowers and to repay me she is engaged in a hug with that stinker who likes to say his name in ever other sentence."

Hellister's night vision allowed him to see Mr. Jones who had fallen to the ground and was weeping and talking to himself.

Hellister walked to where Mr. Jones was.

"Now now, those wounds are not so bad," Hellister said tatking a cloth and wiping away some of the blood. "I hear you talking over here, channeling something from some dimension."

Hellister lifter Mr. Jones chin so he could look in his eyes, "Ahh yes my brother, your eyes are vacant and stare in a world but not this one. Let me see who this is you speak with."

Hellister said a soft spell and hazily his mind began to pick up a cloudy interpretation of Mr. Jones thoughts.

Jean Hallow fled deeper in the mines. She could not bare the thought of living and raising up her children without her husband.

As she fled deeper in the mine something began to bother and scare her, who or what had killed Clay and was it still in this mine?

Carlos struggled to free himself from Eva.

"Senorita, The Rooster was only going to scare him. Cut him real good like the pig he is until he learned some manner. Did not captain Marius want action? Did he not telll the Rooster to get results?"

Carlos was starting to really dislike Eva. He noticed Sicilia coming around to assist her.

"You should not be in this mine," Carlos said to Sicilia, "This is men's work, no? In Mexico we do not allow are wives to do such things."

"Well, Sicilia, I was going to ask you to check his pulse, but it seems that someone's already up to that," Eva said with a sigh. She thought to Hellister's outburst about her 'hugging' a man. "And I'm beginning to think there's something wrong with him. Seriously. Go see what he's doing."
She looked at Carlos.
"Um, since when do you cut a pig just to scare it?"

Larghetto continued his pursuit of Jean.
"Mrs. Hallow, please," he called out. "The last time I ran like this in a dark cave, I almost broke my nose, and the girl who fixed it for me isn't around anymore."
He tried to keep his tone light, in spite of the situation.
"Where are you going? It will be pitch black soon. Why don't you let us take care of the situation? We'll find your husband. Don't you trust me?"

"Well we're not in Mexico, Rooster! We're in Clauden where the women do as much as the men. Eva is a woman too you know! Besides, I'm very capable of helping out in the mines!" Sicilia snapped. She wasn't one to lose her temper. Sicilia usually was quiet and kept to herself, but Carlos was rubbing her the wrong way. She couldn't take it anymore.

Her eyes darted over to Eva. "Yes, Hellister has many issues when it comes to falsifying a situation. Normally, I wouldn't want to go over and see what he's doing, but I think I'll make an exception in this situation if it gets me away from this idiotic man!" she replied storming over to Hellister.

"Hellister?" she questioned, "What are you doing?"

Hellister looked up Sicilia, "You always were interested in my work even if you don't find me as physically actractive as that man-boy you left me for."

Hellister pushed Sicilia gently down to where he had been so she could more clearly see into Mr. Jones eyes.

"You see that look he has," Hellister said to Sicilia, "I am going to penetrate or transfer myself into his mind, which happens to be in this mine," Helister stopped at this point to laugh becuase of the rhyme.

"I'm certain by doing this I can....Well basically I am just doing it for fun at this point and if I find the experience interesting it will be a good ice breaker on my first date with Eva."

Mr. Jones stared at the ground for a while. In a look of awe at the blood that was on the cave floor. Mr. Jones grabbed a nearby rock slowly strugging to push himself up. His body shook as he struggled to balance himself enough to actually stand up. As he stood up he leaned forward coughed a bit and then glanced over at Hellister.

Marius watched the scene play before him. Another stupid move made by the Rooster. Suppose the cut was deeper then Mr. Jones would be dead. Then he would have answers.

"Look Rooster if you cut another person in our group without them threatening anyones safety then your place in our little vigilant group will be gone" Marius said calmly looking at Mr. Jones. Marius knew Mr. Jones wasnt any threat. Mr. Jones was a pathetic messanger it was obvious if there was any conspiracy Mr. Jones would not have a high place. If this diddnt turn out to be some plan for him to make an escape.

((Clay suggested me posting here and I thought it'd be funny. Tee hee))

The Baptist had left the mine in search of Wade. He didn’t have any leads, and most thought was beyond his warped mind, the task was proving difficult. However, from the cemetery he was able to pick up the scent of Wade, which led him back to the mines. However, when he arrived he was able to tell the scent was old, stale, and useless. However, he did catch the scent of others. Some he recognized, some he could have sworn were dead, but most definitely did not have the carrion stench of death.

He entered the mine shaft. He had to hunch over at the waist and bend his knees to keep from clipping the roof. His broad shoulders nearly spanned from wall to wall, and his arms he had to keep tucked to his sides. He knew stealth was not an option, he would have to let them all know of his presence. His body began glow a burning orange color as his metallic skin began to heat.

A red light began to fill the dimly lit shaft, and the air that was cold and damp from lack of sun began to change to an arid heat. Out of frustration The Baptist began to rake his claws against the rock walls and drag his sword against the stone floor, filling the shafts with an echoing dull screech.

The Baptist was soon able to catch sight of the group, making great use of his advanced eyesight, and announced himself in a bellowing voice, “You are all doomed. DOOMED! For now I dine on your souls!”

Jean had tripped and fell from traveling in the dark. She lay there with a skinned knee when she heard Larghetto ask into the darkness if she trusted him.

At this time, she also heard something else. It was footsteps. Very heavy steps with a screeching metal noise accompanied with it.

Something told her deep in her heart that whatever was making this noise was the answer of Clay's fate.

"Oh hurry Larghetto! I am here in the darkness. Come quick, there is something coming."

Hellister was just about to begin his spell over again, after having been interupted by Sicilia, when he heard something.

"I think there is somebody else in this mine now," Hellister said to Mr. Jones because he happened to be the closest.

Hellister helped Mr. Jones steady himself.

"You're not a bad chap," Hellister said.

The noise of scraping metal was getting louder.

Carlos was getting irritated with this group.

"The Rooster thinks that maybe you gringos don't want to get justice. I no hurt Mr. Jones. I just scare him a bit. Just slice him a bit."

Carlos didn't say anything else to Eva or Sicilia, it was quite obvious they did not like him.

He was thinking about leaving the mines and letting the Vigilantes solve their own problems when he heard the heavy steps and scraping noise of steel-on-stone.

"Amigos," he said, "Do you hear that? The Rooster thinks it sounds like something very heavy is coming through the mine. Sounds like maybe a draft horse pulling a steel plow through the rocks. The Rooster doesn't think that makes much sense."
