D got up from the giant on the floor and stepped over him. Continuing down the mines it was going deeper and deeper. As he went further into the mines he heard someone say

Quote:
"Where do you think you're going, Don Juan?"

D heard a gun hammer click back then

Quote:
"You're down here. You might as well make yourself useful."

D flipped his cloak back over his gun and drew his sword. It was a wide enough area to have it out and fight with it. Turning the corner and pointing his sword out at the one who spoke.

"Dont move.. Tell me where Clay is." D said swiftly with the sword pointed at the man.

"What? Who in hell are you?" Jamie said, instinctively taking a step backwards from the cloaked man with the sword. Not seeing that D had a gun, he raised his own.
"Listen, we're just as baffled about Clay Hallow's location as everyone else, but that's no reason to get all violent. Are you working with that other brute who's trying to kill us?"
Jamie realized that he should never have gotten involved after all.

"What Brute?" D asked "No I work alone.. Sorry"

D lowered his sword and looked at the man.

"Who else is down here looking for clay?" Asked D.

D was wondering why everyone was looking for Clay.. Something wasnt right about it.. To many people were brought to this one place.
Maybe it was a trap maybe it wasnt.. The only way to know is to spring the trap.

Jamie gave a quick nod in Albert's direction.
"Oh, just that conspicious berserker over there," he said. "We're all looking for Clay. Well, they are, and apparently that guy knows where he is, unless he lied." He pointed to the wounded Mr. Jones. "I'm not really, though, I'm just with Larghetto. And Sicilia."
He studied D's outfit.
"With that get-up it looks like you're preparing to assassinate the man. If that is the case, your job may already have been done as far as we know."

Hellister put his arm around Sicilia.

"I am making myself useful as you can see. I am comfortig the lady and once again filling the void in her heart. Do you not understand the yearning that a man and woman have for each other."

Hellister watched a new member showed up in the group. Hellister spoke to this D.

"Before I left to the mines I heard a rumor that Clay Hallow was back in the jail and had turned into a coffee maker. At first I was shocked, but then, I could readily accept it. Clay Hallow was so high strung that it makes sense he would be a coffee maker all along."

Hellister's talk made little sense to anyone who was not in the jail at the time. It of course was not refering to Clay Hallow at all, but instead Klay Hallow, the factory robot sent from the future to protect Travis Hallow who indeed did resort to a useless clump of steel that was reduced to making coffee.

"So anyways D, maybe you should go to the jail. That is the last place I heard people saw Clay Hallow. They said underneath his skin he was all metal. Ha Ha, I always thought Clay was dense!"

Hellister looked at Sicilia, "Baby," he said, "If threes a crowd then four is a mob. What do you say we make like a tree and leave these two for some alone time?"

Jean put her arms around Larghetto's neck and held him like her life depended on it.

In the tavern, D had promised Travis that he would find his parents Jean and Clay. Travis, like a fool, tagged along with D but he did not keep up all that well stopping many times to look at frogs, lizards, rocks, and other things that caught his short attention.

Travis, from a distance saw that D was going into the mines. He hurried along and went in though a ways behind D.

Travis poked his head into the dark mines.

"ARE YOU IN HERE?" Travis said as loud as possible. Travis heard some very, very, very heavy footsteps and skipped along in the mines thinking it was probably D.

"Don't worry," Travis said approaching Albert thinking it was D, "I am right behind ya!"

The Baptist looked down as the Rooster thrusted his blade into his gut, and was only able to laugh as the blade did little more than scratch him. Where the blade had glanced along his hardened steel gut the dull glowing red had changed to a brightened orange.

The Baptist let out a deep laugh at this and gave a thrust with his sword which began to spark with flames as dust from the walls of the mine fell onto the hot blade. The strike was aimed at Marius, not wanted to kill the Rooster too quickly after he had made him laugh so hard.

D looked puzzled "Im not here to kill him im here on his behalf of his son. He misses his father and I already have been to the jail dont try to mislead me."

Then down the hall behind D he heard a little voice that he knew was bad.

Travis had followed D into the mines. D turned tail and ran back the way he came. Then coming up to the giant who was now standing and Travis was talking with it.

"Travis! Thats not me! Im over here!" D kept his sword at his side ready to attack the giant if he tried to attack Travis.

"What are you doing here? Its dangerous" D said sternly but not to roughly.

"Fill the void?" she mouthed gapingly looking at Hellister. What was he talking about? Yearning a man and woman have for each other? Was he thinking right? Did he forget about the time in the church? She loved Larghetto. There was no void in her heart.

Sicilia's eyes flashed to Jamie for help, then she felt Hellister slide his arm around her. "Alone time?" she questioned him, "Now is definitely not the time to think of that."

Atleast luck was always on Marius's side when he needed it. Marius saw Alberts sword swingning towards him. After looking back quickly to see if Jean was following. Marius moved to the side just barely missing the edge of the sword. Marius stared at the monster before him. His legs trembled in fear looking at that thing that stood before him. Now they had no plan to stop him. However if his father had taught him anything it was that faked confidence was the best thing to use against your enemies. Marius shook alittle bit in an attempt to shake off any fear that he showed Albert.

"So why are you back those rocks diddnt teach you a lesson?" Marius said an uneasy smile came across his face. Marius placed his gun back into his pocket and just stared at the beast that stood before him. A man once told him that the devil was everywhere and Marius was finnally beginning to believe him.

The Baptist was not interested in Marius' words, for he say them as a cry for mercy. The Baptist still had his sword held out, and had no strain to hold it at its full length. With amazing strength in his wrist and shoulder, he began to slam his sword from side to side, jerking it up and down in violent motions that seemed random.

The sword was being swung with enough force to begin to gouge the walls, sparking flames as it did so, and a number of times digging into the rafters keeping the mine stable.

D ducked as one of the sword swings came near him and rolled to the side of the giant. "Are you crazy?" D yelled out to the giant.

He smashed one of the pillars holding up the mine and almost cut it clean in two.

"Fool you will bring down the mines around you!" D watched as he smashed another one.

"Fool" D muttered and raised his sword and with his vampirc speed he moved in front of the Giant and waited for a cross smash and D blocked his swing and held the giants sword there. He strength was that matched to D's and D struggled to hold the giants sword but he gained his footing and started to push the sword away.

The baptist was taking great joy in the wanton destruction of his assault. Every sound of his sword cleaving into timber and stone made the mouth of his mask, now fused to his face, take on a cruel crooked smile.

The sudden intruder was taking away his fleeting moment of joy, bringer the anger he was suppressing to the group tenfold. Up to now, all of the moment of The Baptist's sword was being done by wrist and shoulder muscles alone, something he intended to change.

He swung his body around so he was perpendicular to the cave wall, with his sword now in front of him. He swings with his off hand to connect with the end of his sword, his gauntlet clad hand now turning a bright orange where he touched his sword. He shifted his feet and with all of his force push in a single great rush against D, using his body weight and superior leverage to great advantage.

Slag began to run down his blade and drip from his hand, splashing against the ground before cooling and turning a shining metallic color.

The giant was strong and only getting stronger.

"What magic is this demon!" D called out to him. His cape was flowing behind him and reviled his pistol on his left hip.

D struggled to hold the giants sword at bay and slipped a little pushing him back a little. D dug his feet in more and finally stopped himself from being crushed against the rock wall.

D then pushed harder to free himself from the wall. They were locked in battle and neither showed signs of leaving the battle.
