Hellister still holding on to Sicilia and Larghetto sagged even more when he saw the burnt destruction of his home.

"Karry!" he said, "Karry must have done this."

Hellister said nothing for a time. "The entire house is lost. Even the gardens. Where do I go from here?" he asked to no one in particular.

"You could stay at my house," Larghetto suggested again. He was silent for a moment, then frantically began speaking again.
"Or, or... if you don't like that idea, you could get a room at the inn and I could help pay for it. Or I could help you find someone else to stay with. Or you could stay with Sic- yeah, someone."

"If I were to stay with you then you must not have Sicilia over when I am there. THe thougnt is still too painful."

Hellister looked again at his house and sighed.

"Karry must be destroyed I am afraid."

"Well, I usually don't invite people over to my house anyway," Larghetto said quietly, looking at the charred remains of Hellister's residence. He added solemnly,
"I was worried that it might come to that. When I took you out of the cave, I heard gunfire. There were a man and a woman who helped me out there. I wonder how much damage they might have done already. Oh, I know this has nothing to do with anything, but Dragonlock was worried about you too. He'll want to know you're okay."

"Indeed Karry is out of control now. The enchantment spell over her has worn off entirely. I doubt in this new persona I wear I would be able to cast another."

Hellister's tongue ran over his sharp teeth to make sure he was right about his condition.

"I wonder if Karry killed those who were firing at her. She was going to raost my head you know."

Hellister changed the subject quickly. THe thought was too horrific for him.

"Then we will go see Dragean. There is still much I need to learn about being a vampire from Cyril."

"I don't know. I think they're fine. They seemed like they were cut out for doing this type of thing. I have this sort of feeling, too. You know? I don't know. I just think they're all right for some reason," Larghetto said. He smiled in a soft, reassuring manner and shrugged his shoulders lightly.
"Anyway, yes. Should we go to their house, then?"
