He was hopeing to get some information about the town bad guys. He was weareing a black suit and had a mask on that looked just like a normal person. He also had on a brown wig. He stepped up to the door with a brifecase full of jewlery in his hand.

He knocked on the door and waited for an anwser.

Clay came around the front of his home with Sydney. There was a slaesman at the door.

"Don't want any," Clay said openeing his door and stepping in slamming it on the salseman.

Clay re-opened the door letting the slaesman in, "Come on then.

Jean, Clays wife looked over Sydney, "I see we have two guests," Jean said sighing. "Thanks for telling me ahead of time Clay. I guess I will makes some more steaks. It will only take me a few more hours," Jean said ducking back into the kitchen.

"Ya can wash up in the water bowl near the window. I'll see to it Jean draws ya a proper bath after dinner," Clay said to Sydney.

Sydney nodded, and rolled up her sleeves. She dunked her hands into the water, the liquid soothing the blisters she got from digging. She really needed to get outside more often, her skin was way too tender. She couldn't even fill in a hole without making her hands feel like they were put into a taffy puller.
"Thank you very much, Mr. Hallow, Mrs. Hallow. I mean it, and hope I'm not imposing."

Jean gave a fake smile to Sydney, "Not at all. Make yourself at home. Travis should be home soo, our son."

"I'll show you the guest room," Jean walked to a pleasant pastel colored room with two large pillows on the bed. Goop, Clay's dog, was sleeping next to the bed.

"This is it," she said.

Sydney nodded, and took out her little red book.
"Thank you very much, Mrs. Hallow."
She noticed some hostility in Clay's wife, but thought nothing of it. Some people were just like that. She sat down on the edge of the bed, and petted the dog with one of her feet as she became wordlessly immersed in her work, yet again.

Travis burst into the house covered in mud. Clay saw how messy he was and immediatley sent him to clean up.

Travis scrubbed his hands and then shot into the guest room to play with Goop.

He saw Sydney sitting in the bed, "Hey there lady, Are ya one of my ma's knitting circle friends. Ya look like one of them knitters," travis said sitting down right next to Sydney and violating all personal space.

"Ya like dogs? " Travis asked not waiting for her to answer the first question.

"This here's my dog but I don't take him out much cause he sleeps to much and he don't go where I want him to. Say where do ya live anyway. My names Travis."

"Uhh..."
Sydney was hopeless when it came to social interaction of any kind, and this child was obviously quite... Eccentric.
"Huh. My name's Sydney, nice to meet you Travis. I'm not fond of dogs myself, really... Same goes with all animals." she said, hoping that it was an acceptable way to converse. Of course, this kid didn't seem like he had any problem with doing all the talking, so she was probably good for now.

Travis continued talking about Goop as if he didn't hear Sydney's response.

"Goop likes ta eat bones. Some dogs bury 'em but not Goop. Once when my pa was feeding him I tried to pet him and he bit me."

Out of the blue Travis bent over with his lips perked and kissed Sydney on the lips,

"Dang, yar a good kisser. Wait 'till I tell my friends I kissed a woman. YEEEEEEEEEHAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW."

Travis jumped off the bed and did a victory dance around the bed.

"Goop likes ta eat bones. Some dogs bury 'em but not Goop. Once when my pa was feeding him I tried to pet him and he bit me."
Sydney had no idea who Goop was for a moment, and thought for a moment that he was talking about his father. Then she realized that he must be talking about the dog, but just then, he kissed her... And on the lips.
"Dang, yar a good kisser. Wait 'till I tell my friends I kissed a woman. YEEEEEEEEEHAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!"
Once again, Sydney was speechless. This child obviously needed some therapy, or maybe just a good book.
"Um. I'm not sure." she said, without thinking. The creepiest thing about that was that that was her first kiss, and she didn't like it one bit. Sydney, once again, thought about what to do... Then, she remembered some words that her father had imparted on her years ago.

"Sydney, if some idiot gets it into his head that he can kiss you while you're at such a young age, smack the crap out of 'em."

Sydney wasn't young anymore, but still. Taking this advice to heart, Sydney calmly closed her book, set down her pen, and waited for Travis to come around. When he was in range, Sydney flung her arm over, and smacked him square in the throat with the flat side of the paperback book.

Travis gasped. The blow bruised his windpipe. Then tears welled up in his eyes and he started to cry. He ran outof the room.

A few minutes later Jean came up. She looked somewhat stern at Sydney, "Now why did you have to strike my little boy? He meant no harm really. The boy is spirited. He's jsut doin what boys do," Jean said.

Jean crossed her arms, "Cause your a guest in my home, I'm gonna ask you nicely. Next time Ya feel that Travis is getting to silly, try talkin to him first intstead of hittin him. I've been raisin that boy for 15 years and never once have I had to spank him, cause he is so bright that a talkin to will set him right."

Sydney bit her lip. That was probably a bad choice, but she was always somewhat bad with any sort of interaction. Be it conversational or... An incident, she supposed was the best way to coin what just happened.
"Ah, I'm sorry about that. Today is pretty much the most often I've been within six feet of another person for... I dunno, three years? Four? Either way, I'm very sorry about that, and say the same to Travis for me. But also tell him I don't take kindly to kissing or hugging of any sort."

Calando left before Clay reopened the door to let the girl in.

"The boy is spirited," Jean repeated leaving the room. "Travis don't go into that woman's room again," Jean's voice carried through the hallway.

Sydney sighed, and laid back onto the bed, staring up at the ceiling. She had gotten used to this sort of thing, but she still felt terribly guilty afterwards. Even if it was, in some way or another, justified. She wasn't able to focus at the moment on her work, so instead, she slowly drifted off into a light, restless sleep.

Clay went to see if sydney wanted dinner or a bath but he saw that she was sleeping. He decided against waking her and instead removed her shoes.

Clay had just heard of Armond's death and was going to the church to pay tribute to him.

Clay closed the guest room door so she would not be disturbed. He left it open just enough so Goop could get out when he wanted to.
