"I'm not sure i understand what you mean," she said sweetly, although her stance and hands clutching the bag tighter indicated that she did.

"What blood? Oh my! Was ther a murder in that house?" she lied experty, taking a few steps back.

"unfortunately I have been challenged to a duel......and I am not one to back down a challenge...." He smirked noticing she was still clenching the bag. "by the way your a terrible liar....thieves these days over confident now....you should have run I already caught a glimpse of you walking away from the house and you seem so protective of your little bag......... I could forget this whole incident if you help me" He said smiling as he walked even closer putting his sword near her neck. "I wouldnt want to spill the blood of 2 people today"

Jean was petrified when she heard that a thief had broken into her home. Luckily, this fellow who had waited to see her husband was inceredibly nice to her and was taking care of the two characters who had broken into her home.

"Sir," Jean called to the man, "Have you aprehended the thieves yet? I've got a child and all."

(Clay says.....Ya right Sydney like Jean would ever cheat on me.)

Sydney was lost in her thoughts again... She didn't even notice any of the things going on in front of her. All of it was being absorbed, though, and it would make fine yarn for knitting her tales. She just imagined the feelings Clay would have when he found out about his wife cheating, the raw emotion when he found his home burgled, and the slight amusement when he realized that Sydney would be staying. A smile crept across her face, and she plopped down on the ground, feet streched out in front of her, and a ridiculous smile on her face. She pushed up her glasses, made a passing glance at Jean, and let out a long, slow breath.

"yeah I've got this thief" He yelled to Jean. He looked at Mari and spoke in a lower calmer voice. "now I could get you out of this right now ma'am if you help me with something"

"Oh my," Jean said coming up to Marius. "I am so thankful to you for getting the lousy thief. You must be a good friend of my husband to help us out like that."

"Clay is at the theatre watching a perfomance. Do you want me to give him a message?"

"What's in it for me? I don't care if I die," she said perfectly straight faced. It was obvious that she wasn't lying at all.

She had a tough look in her eyes now.

"I didn't run because I've been bored. I've been wanting to fight, and am glad that you are armed," the girl said curtly.

"So, will you fight me like a gentleman, or kill me where I stand? It makes no difference to me."

"tell him Mr. Edwards would like to speak with him" He looked at Mari. "I do not wish to fight someone such as yourself." He said coldly. "could you drop the bag for me now maybe then I'll be willing to negotiate with your terms of fighting"

She looks at him suspiciously, then takes out two long swords, putting the bag behind her.

"Why don't you want to fight me? Afraid you'll lose?"she taunted as she stuffed things into her sleeves and bra.

"We'll play by fis blood rules," she said, looking at him as though she had chosen the easiest of opponents.

Marius shook his head. "unfortunately I do not fight with rules for amusement what is first blood......." He knew he could take this girl easily. However he would have to avoid setting everything on fire like he normally did.

"It is very simple. The first person to bleed loses, and no guns, fires, explosives or sucker pinches. Everything else is legal. You may kill the loser if you desire, and they may not fight back," she said smiling evily, "Think you can catch me? Oh, almost forgot, Will you agree to those terms?"

"Fine then," she said looking as if he had just ruined the fun of it, "a hand is maximum punishment. We take 10 paces, just like in a gun fight. Then, all is fair game."

She smirks as if she has this fight in the bag and cannot lose, readying her swords.

"I'll accept your offer to go first. But I'm not afraid," she says almost chocking in laughter.

Doing a back-handspring into the air, she throws a red powder in his face from her sleeve.

"After all, why should I be afraid of a man who's just been drugged?" she smiles readying her swords when she lands, proud of her homemade hallucinogen.
