"Oh," Jean said, "ou must be one of those old timer sheriff then. Well Clay is getting to be an old timer too."

Jean poured Robert coffee, "I don't know when he will be back. If you are ina hurry you might be best to go look for him in the jail, tavern or graveyard."

Robert looked down to the coffee and took a nice long slip. It was just the thing to warm him up inside.

"I just came from the Jail House, So maybe i'll try the tavern or something like that." He said.

He pulled his hat from the table and placed it back on his head. He smiled and made his way to the door leaving the half full cup of coffee behind.

"Well, Ma'am I'm off to look for him, Thanks for the coffee."

He opened the door and disappeared into the night.

Belle looked confused about the whole situration.Leo her boyfriend and then another person who just turned up. She shook her head and looked to Jean and laughed about Leo being her special someone. " No no Mrs Hallow, Leo is just a friend, a gaurdian angel if you want to piut it that way!" She giggled more and looked to the new guy who had finished his coffee. " Well he didnt have any manners![/i][/b]" She looked to the floor and wondered if the new guy wanted Mr Hallow, later she was going to follow him.

Before Jean could finish her coffee with Belle one of Travis's friends burst through the door. Travis's friend, Douglas, looked worried.

"Mrs. Hallow, I saw Travis by the mines. I thought ya said he wasn't allowed to play there anymore.

"Oh my," Jean said, "Belle, would you mind going to the mines to find Travis and tell him to come home right now!"

Belle looked around as quick as a flash, when Travis's friends came in to tell Mrs Hallow that he had been playing next to the mines. " Belle would you go and get Travis and tell him to come home!" Belle looked abit shocked and got up. " Ok, Mrs Hallow... Ill be right back!" Belle ran out of the house and four white paws hit the ground. She had to be quick before Travis got himself in trouble.

Jean was still waiting for Belle to bring Travis home. Cole Hallow would not stop screaming in her arms.

"My my aren't you feisty today. I wonder what has gotten into you. "

Jean looked at the clock and checked on her stew she was making for dinner. Clay should have been home hours ago. I wonder where he is?, Jean thought to herself.

Cole Hallow continued to cry until he was blue in the face.

"If he keeps this up I am going to have to send for a doctor.

Travis ate the soup his mom made for him. It was very salty because his tears kept falling into it. Travis cried and ate while he thought about his dad.

Travis went and laid down in his bed. He had never felt worse in his entire life.

Travis brought Rodrigo to his home, where he lived with his mother Jean.

Goop, his dog, was happily wagging his tail when Travis arrived.

"Here it is," Travis said. "It is kinda falling apart now that my pa ain't home to fix it up."

The house had some shingles missing from the roof and weeds were starting to grow up and cover the front yard.

"All my ma does is sit inside and cry these days."

Travis walked up to the house and opened the door.

"Ma, we got company," he said.

Jean walked out to see who was at her hous. Her face was worn and tired looking.

"Hello," Jean said sounding forlorn. "You must be another one of Travis's friends. You can come inside, please excuse the house. I just can't keep it up anymore. My husband is gone, God took him."

Jean ushered them in and quickly shut the door and locked it.

"You don't want to me out there mister," Jean said to the Rodrigo. "Everybody gets killed out there. This is an evil town."

"Hello there, Mrs. Hallow," Rodrigo said. He removed his hat as he entered the house, something he seemed to be doing a great many times that day.
"Yes, your son said something to the same effect." Rodrigo paused, glancing down at Goop. "All the same, I came here for the sheriff position. My name is Rodrigo Castillo. It's a pleasure to meet you, m'am. I have to say that I am truly sorry for your loss. However, while I'm here, I'll do what I can to assure that your husband's passing was not in vain." He looked back up, and added in a sympathetic tone, "Would you like any help with anything, Mrs. Hallow?"

Travis patted Goop on the head and went and sat down on the couch hoping that Rodrigo and his mom would hit it off.

Jean walked into the other room and the sound of opening drawers could be heard.

Jean came back out with Clay Hallow's boots, his spare badge, and the hammer he used to submit criminals.

"Here," Jean said handing them to Rodrigo. "I don't need these around anymore. I don't want to look at them."

Jean looked around the house quickly.

"I do need something, " she said. "I would like to see the man responsible for the disappearance of my husband brought to justice."

"Thank you, but you really don't need to give me these things. I know it's difficult," Rodrigo said, accepting the 'gifts'. He watched Jean as she dashed around the house.
"Do you know who the man is?"

Jean looked hard at Rodrigo.

"I have been trying to forget him ever since I saw him. He is a giant, and he bleeds fire. His face is hideous. I don't know much about him, there are others who do though.

"Sicilia, Marius, Hellister and even Larghetto I think know who he is. They would have more knowledge about the giant than I would."

"Marius. I've heard that name," Rodrigo said, rubbing his chin. "Actually, I came across a man who was being referred to as 'Marius' outside of the tavern. He was in rather bad shape, and unconscious. Just as I suspected, this is all tied together." He smiled as he pieced together the situation in his mind, but the smile quickly faded.
"Listen, Mrs. Hallow." Rodrigo lowered his voice and placed a hand on her shoulder, his tone becoming more sympathetic.
"I don't normally reveal too much about myself, but this is important." He glanced into the other room. "I... lost my own father at a young age. It was the most difficult thing I've ever been through, and it haunts me even now. Keep an eye on your boy. It's typical of young men to want to do things to set things right. I wouldn't want him getting into any trouble."
He smiled sadly.
"Everything is going to be all right, Mrs. Hallow. You take care of yourself and of Travis."
