Hellister pondered the situation. He would definatley have to take his sister to his new hideout. Nobody would be able to take care of her. This concerned him.

His attention was suddenly drawn to the door. He felt something in the air, something familiar.

Clay rode up to Raven's ranch to take Abagail up on the offer that she had proposed to him. He ntoiced a strange looking man at the doorway as he rode nearer. He jumped off his horse.

This guy was strange looking, wearing a cloke, and his hair was out of fashion.

"Figures, this ranch is a regular witches coven, I'ma more than likely going to arrest this guy, Raven and whoever else is inside. If it looks like a warlock, smells like a warlock, and talks like a warlock, then it must be a warlock," he thought. "How can she tell me she aint no witch when a guy like this is at her door."

"Wooooo partner," he said to Perrin jumping down from his horse, "I've never seen you before in Clauden and right off the back you've rubbed me the wrong way with them clothes your wearing. A year'go I woouldn'ta cared none bout how ya dressed, but now too many people are dead, too much goin on."

"Just one moment, my dear."
Perrin said to Raven, then turned to the newcomer. Judging by the badge, this man was probably an authority figure, and Perrin decided to choose his words carefully, even if it meant bending the truth every so slightly.
"Monsieur, please. I have cometh a long way and am very weary. I am a but a simple musician. A few days ago, a band of thieves burned my tower and my carillon and stole my bells. I arrived to see them escaping in the direction of this village. I haveth not caused any problems here. Thou speaketh thyself that ye hath not seen me before. How could one who only just arrived be a problem?"

"What is this becoming a French colony? Where the heck are all y'all Frenchys comin from? By tha way sir this aint no village its a town, what century do you think your in anyway? And a tower, Are you delusional? Come on lets go inside to see what your reallly here for." He said sidestepping Perrin and entering the door.

"Well this bout proves it, Hellister, Raven, the goon outside and this big fellow in here, some kind of witches gaurd I take it," he said to Quintin.

Perrin was quickly realising that the law here was much more strict and evolved then he was used to. Perhaps he had simply came into town at the wrong time, not that it was his choice.
Whatever the reason, he noted that he must be more careful with his decisions from now on.
He fled from the house, as silent and as invisible as an annoyingly silent and invisible ghost.

Raven sighed and covered her face.

"Sheriff! You're not being rational about this by any means!" Her hands dropped to her side.

"Hellister only came by to ask that he may board his horse with me, cause I wont charge him. Quintin here was found wounded, and he's homeless. I'm giving him a place to stay in exchange for his work. If you go off and arrest me, my horses are as good as dead if I dont have someone to care for them.

As for that man who you were so rude to, had JUST knocked on my door. I have no idea who he is."

She crossed her arms.

"I understand your stressed sir, but you're jumping far to quickly to assumptions."

"Well where is the woman Abagail who said she would meet me here. Is her throat torn out somewhere around your ranch? I'm at least going to have to search the premises," he said, "because she told me she would be here and unless your not telling me something I don't see any sign of her. And you," he said to Quintin, "What happened to you? Are you being held here?"

Raven groaned and covered her face.

"I cannot believe this is the treatment I am getting in my own home." she sighed as she plopped down on her bed and laid out.

"Whatever, explore freely."

Abagail peered in the door with a raised eyebrow and listened to Clay's accusations.

"Sherrif!" She barked as she walked in with a frown.

"Stop that, your acting horribly! I am perfectly fine. I just took a back trail to check out a couple things."

Sheriff Clay Hallow's face was bright red. He looked like he was close to a break down.

"There you are. You know I dont mean to be like this," he said sitting on the couch next to Hellister. "It just that I lost my number one deputy and..." Clay stopped talking it looked like he was about to cry.

He reagined his composure,"Well anyway my main reason for coming here was to talk to you," he said to Abagail. "I want to take you up on that offer with your brother."

Hellister was disapointed that the sheriff came when he did. He was certain he knew who the man at the door was. He was tempted to sneak out but didn't want to attract attention, so he just sat and smiled.

Quintin grumbled and went back to his dinner. "Paranoia can be a drug sheriff, don't get a addicted..."

Clay looked at the large wounded man. "You know you look awfully familiar to me. Why is that, wait its the eyes, why you look kind of like Deputy Gerard."

"He is my brother..." Quintin grumbled and continued to eat off his bowl, not really caring about the consequences.

"Your brother, I've been looking for him. He was the last man to see my deputy alive. I need to ask him some questions. Where is he?"
