Quintin pinched his eyes for a second, thinking it over,

"well, He's got a lot of tricks up his sleeve, especially magic. I don't think it's going to be that easy killing him off, maybe you should check out his study, back at the house..."

"That makes sense," Cyril said, nodding, "unlike our benumbed friend over here..." He gestured to Hellister.

"I may have some books about drows in my study, as well," Draegan said. "My job is one most suited for this sort of research." He paused for a second, obviously wracking his brain for information that might be useful. "Drows, like vampires, are weak in the daylight; we may be able to use that to our advantage... but then again, looking at our 'army', we may have to play on his field."

"I don't think "we" ... can win this fight..." Quintin said and looked down, waiting for some cold comment from the vampire...

Yukari raised an eyebrow.

"You sure do alot of thinking for a mutt." She let the insult roll lazily before she looked over to Dreagan, "You forget, his playing feild, is the same as mine and your dear friends," she commented motioning to Cyril.

She straightened herself out and looked at the ever growing crowd.

"This isn't some impending doom. Just a some problematic child who's lived long enough to let him think he's got some kind of power."

Raven sat quietly, listening to the conversation then hopped off the porch, heading down the road.

"I'm going to that study." She looked out to the town, "I think, maybe we ought to find a way to drag Isril's attention away from the town. It's suffered enough damage as of lately."

Then, after a second thought, she walked past Yukari, her shoulder hitting the other woman's violently.

"And his name is Quintin. Start using it."

(( There are three vampires here, but I'll assume you meant Yukari and comment anyway. grin ))

"How optimistic," Cyril noted, his voice dripping sarcasm. "Defeating one drow with a knife-wielding paranormal expert, three vampires, the ranch girl and you will surely be about as hard as nailing water to a tree." He placed a hand to his temple, feigning despair. "Oh, woe is me, I feel so incompetent right now. Don't you, Draegan?"

Yukari scowled at Cyril, and then, blinking, brushed it off.

"Karry doesn't count. She's only a fledgling and has hardly the skill. " Then she paused, wrinkling her nose, "Of couse, the mortals are of even less use," she turned the corner of her lip in disgust, watching as Raven worked her way down the path.

"I resent that..." Draegan sighed unappreciatively, folding his arms.

Yukari gave Dreagan an almost appologetic look (well, she would have, were it not for her immense amount of pride) "Don't. Its simply that mortals do not have the capacity for magic that creatures such as vampires and others do. That and you simply just," she waved a hand as if looking for the term, "aren't as...durable."

Hellister sat for a period and de-toxed sobering from the viscious tea.

"Ugg, sorry everbody," he looked around the gathering and noticed that some of these people were not human at all.

"If only Fermata was here with her camera, what a piece of art I could have," he said.

"Is there a woman here who would like to accompany me to the dance? I expect it will be interesting."

Hellister still a bit groggy remembered the stranger had asked him a question, "I'm an herbalist, but I think there is a demand for your kind. You might try the sheriff. He will have plenty of work for you."

Karry tried to stand behind Yukari so Hellister would not see her.

"Mom," she said to Yukari, "I'm not a fledging anymore. I already ate my first man. I bet I could eat this other thing your talking about. If he is not a man would it be ok if I ate him?"

Draegan unfolded his arms and instead folded his hands in front of him. "Yeah, it makes sense when you look at it objectively, but I still resent it..."
