Wade sighed at what Hellister called his invention. And with surprising speed and accuracy (even considering his company) he snatched the filter back from Hellister and put it back in his case.

"That was a starting point. I have made something else as well. Combine the two and I think I made something for you. A Micon Filtering Mesh. I interlaced the material with fibers made from this filter to create a suit that would enable a person to stay in sunlit environments for indefinite amounts of time with no ill effect. Originally I made it with garden loving albinos in mind, however it never really took off."

Wade pulled out a suit that looked infant sized and made of spandex from inside his briefcase, holding it out for Hellister to examine.

Larghetto, who had been in such a silence that he may have been forgotten, uninvitedly stooped in to look at the suit.
"Are you sure you really want to get into this, Hellister?" he said slowly.

Cyril raised an eyebrow, losing a bit of interest. "How does it work, Wade?"

Wade's interest perked up and he gained a smile, finally a person interested in his work.

"Yes, good question. However it is equally hard to explain. To fully grasp the concept of the device you my first understand what it means when I convert this filter into fibers rather than it's current solid state. At present, it holds little use when dealing with tactile objects such as the mesh I use to create similar suits. However, when I transfer it into the form of a fiber, it retains its photo-filtering characteristics while gaining an increased amount of tactility. The suit itself is able to stretch to great amounts."

Wade pulls back the sleeve of his shirt to show a similar material under his clothes, however, this one a bright red with black rather the dull brown color of the one he presented to Hellister.

"A suit of like size is one I am sporting right now. While ours are vastly different in purpose, they are similar in design. However, as I have done little testing on a subject so sensitive to the light, I am unsure of how it will fare. I would be most grateful if we could test the effects in the sunlight at its strongest. Say, the desert come noon?" Wade asked as he pulled his sleeve back down, covering up the suit underneath.

"Interesting," said Cyril, "but it could be dangerous. What would happen to Hellister, then, if it malfunctioned, or didn't work as expected?"
After a moment of quiet, "He'd die.
"I say we test it gradually, beginning at sunrise, to minimize the possibility of casualty. I'll bring a spare cloak, just in case..."

Wade's shoulders drooped as he grew a mixture of annoyed and sad, his face did not help to mask this.

"Oh I guess you're the doctor right? I guess you're the one who went to school for eight years to study this stuff then huh? I guess you're the guy who actually does this for a job right? Let's all do what you wanna do then...I'll be there by morning..Don't be late."

Wade said as he left the suit at the residence, taking his briefcase with him as he left in a huff.

Cyril rolled his eyes. Maybe, if Wade had been a girl, Cyril would have cared more that he was offended. "Doctor-slash-vampire trumps doctor in this matter, sir," he retorted under his breath. "Let's not kill any more people than are absolutely necessary."
He turned back to Larghetto and Hellister with a surly look on his face. "Do you mind a brown cloak, Hellister?" he asked, monotone. "I only have one black one. There's navy, too, and dark red."

Hellister managed to give a crooked smile,"Are you advising then Cyril, that I don't test the doctor's suit? If only we had a specimen, some rogue vampire, for example, Karry, to test the suit."

"I could never catch Karry though. She is much better and ruthless at this vampire thing than I am."

Cyril folded his arms. "No, go on and test it, I was just saying that, instead of marching you out into direct sunlight in a suit that may or may not work is rather... stupid and dangerous, when we have preventative measures that could prevent you from being killed."

"Who knows," he said, throwing his hands up, "Wade could be out to exterminate you."

Hellister didn't quite understand what Cyril was saying, was he being sarcastic?

"So I shouldn't test it? Is that what you recomend?"

Cyril was getting irritated. which seemed to be happening a lot lately. "No," he said through clenched teeth, "You should test it, but only under the proper standards of safety. Thus, the cape." He sighed rather hopelessly. "I mean, if you go out in nothing but the UV filter and it doesn't work, you'd be dead. That's why I proposed the idea of you wearing a cape or something, so you could stick your arm out or whatever and see if it's alright. Alright?"

All of a sudden there was the sound as if a large sack of potatoes was dropped from great heights coming from somewhere outside. Following close in hand with that sound, was the sound of a painful moan and whine, as if that potato sack had a mouth and vocal cords, but broke its jaw upon impact.

Wade arose a moment later and began knocking on the door, deciding best to knock to the drums of Entombment of a Machine by Job For A Cowboy (not that anybody would know what that song is).

Hellister's new bat pet flew around the room at the knocking. It unlocked the chain lock on Dragean's door allowign gravity to creak the door ajar slightly.

Wade walked in and glanced up at the bat that had opened the door.

ďOh yes, good day thank you. No no, I am here for professional business Iím afraid. No, itís not that I donít want to spend personal time with you Iím just swamped with work lately. Well I canít help it if you did that. Iím not that kind of doctor you know. I donít know maybe you should askÖA whole wheel of cheese you say? Wow, Iím impressed. I wish I knew more about that sort of thing just so I could see it. Oh, no, no thank you. Thank you so much. Iím afraid not actually; this is something I have mostly no idea about. Oh, you mean the other work. Well, that was on portal technology. Oh, I can explain it all rightÖĒ

Wade begins to trail off on a lengthy speech about applied physics on ďportal technologyĒ that uses enough technical terms and ten dollar words to make anybody dizzy.

The bat flys around the room while Dr. Wade talks to, as it appears, the bat.

The bat finally lands on a table and pickes up a piece of paper. It takes the piece of paper and drops it into Wade's lap.

It is a note from Hellister to Wade, it reads...

"Dear Dr. Wade,

I thought you would come here as I had a dream about your presence in this house. I am actually residing at Larghettos although I am likely to be out.

As you know I am suffering from what I thought was a vampiric curse. I was wrong, well at least somewhat. It appears the typed of vampirism I am afflicted with is biological in nature.

I drew this conclusion after all my attempts to cure it using supernatural means failed. I have concluded that their are two types of vampirism. One, biological in nature, the other, supernatural.

Unfortunately, I only deal with the supernatural. Therefore, this form falls in your ball park, whatever a ball park is. Please let my bat lead you to me. He always knows where to find me. His mechanism that picks up sound can hear my voice from miles away."

The bat landed near where Wade sat.
