Francesca was on decent terms with her father. This was largely due to the fact that she hadn't asked for anything or gotten into trouble in awhile, and he hadn't done anything to disrupt her. In short, they had left each other alone.
"Probably," she replied, shrugging her shoulders. She smiled. "Or maybe he saw that crossdresser wandering about and he changed his mind. I could go ask around, if you'd like."

Rodrigo had finally managed to find the house after asking enough people.
"Wallenstein," he said. "This has to be it. I should've guessed." He paused to admire the house, which was clearly one of the more luxurious in Clauden. Then, he stepped up and knocked on the door.

At the knock, Wolf rushed to the door eagerly.
"Hello, sir. Would you happen to be Mr. Castillo?" he asked. He held open the door. "Please, come inside and have a seat. This is my daughter, Francesca."

"Yes, hi there. Thank you," Rodrigo replied. He entered the house and looked around. This family was obviously rich, and the daughter was probably spoiled. He smiled to Francesca and nodded in greeting, then took off his hat.
"Nice to meet you." Rodrigo chose a chair to sit in. "I apologize to have kept you waiting. I had quite a time finding the house. However, it did give me the oppurtunity to get acquainted with your town a little."

"Hello," Francesca greeted, rubbing the back of her head. She gave Rodrigo a look-over. He definitely looked like the "deputy wanting to be sheriff" type. A tough guy, but still a little innocent. They were always a little innocent before they came here. She smirked and looked away. He didn't know what he was up against.

"Not a problem, sir," Wolf said. He crossed his arms in a manner that somehow looked professional. "Now, I know you are intent on getting this job, and I am quite ready to hire you. You have an excellent reputation as a deputy. But I must inform you of the dangers that this town has to offer." Wolf proceeded to go into a long lecture about the dangers of being Clauden's sheriff. I mean, c'mon, it's not like anyone's actually going to read this. Me roleplaying with myself, I mean.
"So, are you still interested in the job?"

"Yes," Rodrigo said. It seemed that everyone was trying to change his mind. It was a puzzling situation. Rodrigo thought Clauden wanted a sheriff, and yet everyone seemed intent on pushing him away. He smiled and leaned forward, hands clasped.
"I know of Clauden's nasty reputation, and have been reminded of it again and again by the townspeople. And it only enforces my mindset that you are more in need of a good law system than any other town. I will do what I can, mayor."

((OOC: "The dangers this town has to offer?" Seriously, mayor, your ESL is no excuse for saying silly things like that.))

"You are a determined man, indeed. You are what I've been looking for," Wolf said. He smiled a small smile and shook hands with Rodrigo. The man's mindset to fix the town reminded him of his own. Wolf disappeared into another room, and returned with a badge and a standardly issued Colt Peacemaker.
"Here you are, son. Your office will be in the jail, and you may appoint deputies as you see appropriate. At least at first, I would like you to come to me before making any major decisions. And, I promise you, if you try anything funny, I will hear of it, and rob you of your badge." You could never be too trusting.

"Thank you," Rodrigo said. He pinned the badge to his vest beneath his coat, then rose from his seat and smiled again. "You're not making a mistake. I'll begin surveying the town immediately. Take care of yourself, Mayor." He gave Wolf a friendly pat on the back, then tipped his hat to Francesca.
"Have a nice day, miss. I'll see you, I'm sure." Rodrigo headed out the door.
