Wolf was about to say something when he was handed the notes. He studied them for a long time, perplexed.
"What does this mean, exactly?"

Wade stopped for a moment to think, “It means that the standard admission fee will be waved on account of I am the proprietor of the show in question, Big science show or whatever I called it. You and whoever else wants to go will go, and pay nothing. Get it like fancy pants?” Wade seemed to enjoy talking to him for some reason, even though he was fairly certain he did not like him. “And why did you ask me to marry your daughter? That is hardly the standard greeting.”

"Yes, I see. I suppose I should thank you for this, then," Wolf said gruffly. He didn't exactly enjoy being called 'fancy-pants', and he didn't really feel like he should be thanking anyone who called him that.

Wade gets a disgusted look on his face, “Good sir I am a man of honor. I can’t just marry your daughter. I mean…” Wade’s facial expression suddenly changes to interest, “I don’t even know if she has a dowry, and if she does, how handsome of one are we talking about here?”

"Of course there is a dowry. What kind of man do you take me more?" Wolf said, seemingly growing more and more offended at everything Wade said. "275 dollars flat, as well as being written into our will and potentially a position under town manager appointed by myself."

Wade regained his disgusted look, “What? I ask handsome and you give me that? I was expecting Wesley Pressman handsome. The kind of heart-throb you just can’t resist. Instead you’re giving me Clay Hallow handsome. Sure handsome but in a dirty kind of way you feel bad about showing your parents. I am a man of honor Sir Fancy-Pants”. Wade then stopped and re-gained his look of interest, “Just what does it mean Town Manager? That means I could appoint a new sheriff? Or maybe clear a person’s name who was wrongfully accused of something?”

It was clear that Wolf's patience was wearing increasingly thin, and he had no idea why he even continued the conversation. He thought that what he offered had been quite the deal for a dowry.
"Yes. The town manager has basically the mayor's duties, except they must be approved by the mayor. No one realizes it yet, but I was town manager when the mayor died, so that makes me the mayor."

wade looked down for a moment before looking back up towards Wolf, "Ok, so maybe I'm not so honorable. See ya at the show Mr. Wallstein." wade said with a polite smile and a wave before heading off to take care of show preparations.

"Yes, I will see you there," Wolf said, confused. He stood there a moment, looking down, then picked up the book on his step and went in.

Dwight was fairly shure that he had found Francesca's house. If he hadn't, then it was the end of the road... he'd have to try again the next day. But if his sources were correct, then Francesca would be there. He knocked on the door confidently with a smug smirk on his face.
Business. Dwight loved business, but he loved women even more. Particularly one woman, who shall go nameless, that put up a challenge for him.

Winona Wallenstein-Scowley, Francesca's mother, answered the door. She was dressed in an apron and her curly black hair was tied back, as if she had been cooking.
"Hello, sir. Can I help you?" she asked, looking up at the man who was tall compared to her.

Dwight looked down to the small woman with a warm smile. He knew that he didn't need to treat this woman the same way he did most women. For one... the woman seemed to remind him of his own mother, and it softened him up a bit.
"Hello, mam... I was looking for Miss Francesca." he said politely.

"Francesca?" Winona asked meekly. She sighed softly. "Why? What did she do this time? She's really not a bad girl, you know. It's our fault that she does the things she does to other people. Money is a curse. I used to be like her, too. Oh, sorry. Would you like for me to get her for you?"
