Emma took pity on Ray, she went to her bedroom and pulled a frilly dressing gown out of the wardrobe. Walking back to the table, she handed it to him, being careful to keep her eyes above the table. You can put this on,while your pants dry," she offered.

"Thanks", he said, putting it on, "So last thing I recall, you were talking about going to see Wayne or something... no..."

He couldn't remember.

"You really don't remember, my little lamb chop?"
She looked at him so confused, sitting there in her best dressing gown, the colours were so flattering on him.She knew an opportunity like this may never come again. She looked at her hope chest, and knew what she had to do.

"We were married last night. I am now your wife."

Ray nodded. That was a bit surprising. He didn't think drunk Raymond would have married this girl. She seemed too boring and kind of mean. But he half suspected he may have had a concussion too. But maybe drunk Emma was different. He would have to find out later.

"Well then", he said, "I should be going then... I'll bring your gown back later. Nice to meet you Emma."

He started leaving.

"Wait, I didn't buy you anything right?", he asked stopping. He would have to steal anything he bought back. Drunk Ray really could be a pain in the ass.

Emma didn't want her "new husband" to leave.

'Where are you going, this is your home now, we can share it together. As for the gown if you are comfortable wearing it,that is fine with me,as long as you dress as a man in public."

"Heh, I guess you don't understand. We didn't get married. That's the end of the story.", Ray said. He didn't like talking about this. He couldn't help but begin to think about... Nevermind. He would make Emma understand, and then he could be on his way.

Emma pulled her trusty pistol out of her pocket, and pointed it at Ray.

"We did get married. Now sit down and face it or I will be a widow before I have had my honeymoon."

Ray sat down real slow. A crazy one huh? It made sense, he supposed.

"Alright then. Get me a beer hon.", he put his feet up on the table, knocking over a nice looking vase and smashing it all over the floor.

Emma watched in amazement as her crystal vase went flying off the table.

"This is not a tavern you ignorant swine, I don't have any beer. Get your feet off the table,or I swear I will cut your toes off."

'Ever heard of walking? Walk to the tavern. Come back. Give beer.", Ray said, "Good wife."

He leaned back and watched the fire, zoning himself out. This might not be too bad if it lasted. Either way it would work out. Unless she shot him. That would sure be bad.

Emma listened to him in amusement. He would get what he deserved. She went into the kitchen and poured a glass of whiskey, then returned to the dining room where Ray was still reclining with his feet on the table.

"How about a whisky instead, darling," she offered her "husband".

Ray briefly considered not taking the drink. He didn't like the look in Emma's eyes. And he was really hung over... He'd figured the beer thing would have deterred her. But... booze.

"Sure, I guess it'll do", he said, moving for the drink.

Emma knew he wouldn't be able to resist alcohol. She held the glass out in front of her for him to fetch.

"If you want it,come and get it."

She watched as he eased himself off the table and ambled towards her, right over the broken glass of the vase. He grunted in pain as glass shards entered his foot. She watched as he kept walking towards his objective, the whiskey in her hand.

Ray was in a bit of pain, what with the shards of ceramic stuck in his feet, but whiskey won out. He even walked back through the shattered vase to get back to the couch. He drunk from the bottle with one hand, while pulling out shards of glass with the other.

"Thanks", he said, "Whoops, door."

He limped over to the door. He wasn't sure what the group wanted, but he didn't want to be tricked. He gave them some of the fruit from the fruit bowl he'd eaten from earlier, a little apologetically, and closed the door.
