Elaina didn't like that he had 'business to attend to' that didn't involve her. She sighed as he walked out the door. Elaina decided that she would try and do something until he got back, but she didn't want to hang around. Suddenly all the doubtful thoughts she had been having came back to her. She walked out of the room, heading towards the burnt train station.

Marius carried Connie into the tavern laid him down on the bed. Then after that was done Marius put his chair in front of the door thinking. He thought a little stupid for once. He left his last ally to die and he diddnt give her a clue. This new guy could be dangerous well Marius had a job to do and he wasnt going to fail from some coward like him. Something inside Marius was worried for Elaina. Marius put his hand on his head deep in thought looking for some brightside.

Conwell slowly awoke. The dull roar of the tavern was in his ears, and standing right there was... The man from the rooftop. Connie jumped to his feet, and his face became twisted in anger.
"What... Have you done... With Andy..." he growled, every inch of him screaming to obey his instincts and punch this man as hard as he could.

"nothing I promise you sir I havent" He said as he pulled the hood down and took the cloth that was covering his eyes off. His eyes were still gray and distant. However his hand was shaking he wasnt afraid for himself but for Elaina. She stuck with him through thick and thin. "I made a bad choice sir"

"A bad choice? What are you-" he started, but stopped once he noticed the man was shaking. Like he was nervous.
"You didn't. You didn't kill her. You did NOT kill ADRIAN!" he screamed, his ears and tail popping out of their respective areas. He threw off his hat, and flung himself at the man, screaming as loud as he could.

Marius a trained fighter would have just drew his blade and stabbed into this man. However to save Elaina he wouldnt do it. He fell backwards hitting his head on the floor. "I diddnt kill her" he said looking at Connie who was now onto of him. Marius looked him in the eyes and in a very concerned voice he said. "I promise you.....I might lose the person I care for and I dont know what I was thinking" he clenched his fist. "you can beat me now beat the living sh*t out of me I wouldnt care" He said distant. "because I failed the one I love...."

Connie took pity on this man... He was speaking of losing a love. He probably would have jumped out the window if Adrian was really dead, and... This man had a risk of it.
"What are you talking about? If you didn't kill her, where is she?"

"I dont know I hired her..." He smirked abit thinking how foolish he was. "I offered an exchange of leverage...she offered you I offered the one I care for.....appropriate I guess." He said looking out the window. Kill him now that was what Marius wanted to do but Elaina.

Connie's back went rigid. What? Had Andy given him to this man? Was he really telling the truth? Did Andy... Dare he say it... Exchange hostages? He didn't want to belive it... This was too much of a risk, even for Andy. She wouldn't do this... Would she?
"Get up." he said, and got off of the man, pulling him up with one arm.
"You want your love safe. So do I. We need to go find them, now."

Marius stood up "I guess a good person would agree and go off and rescue my love as a team..." His eyes had a tiny glint in them a little spark. "unfortunately I'm not a good person...." he said as he quickly drew his blade and attempted to cut across Andy's chest. It wasnt a killing blow it was certainly a warning and it would be quite painful. "maybe if you were in my shoes you would understand a sinner like me" He said as he kicked the door down picked up the chair and threw it at Connie and ran towards his one clue the shack.

Connie recieved the cut by surprise, it hurt like hell. Just as he stood up, clutching his chest, the chair hit him in the back, knocking him to the ground. A lesser man would have laid there, and screamed for help.

But Connie was a man in love.

He pushed the chair off of his back, and stumbled to his feet, chest bleeding slowly.
"I understand you perfectly, you Godless idiot..." he panted, and ran out of the tavern, hot on his tail.

“This is for you,” said the innkeeper's wife, going ahead of her. “And there's a dressing room off it, where I thought you could put your belongings; and here's the bathroom. It's all pretty cramped I'm afraid, but I hope you'll be comfortable.” “I think it's perfect.” She set her suitcase down on the bed, and looked about her. There was a window facing out onto the street, and a deep windowsill, on which stood a little jug of snowdrops. She wondered if the innkeeper's wife had put them there.

Kayleigh sat on the edge of her bed, and lifted her suitcase onto her knee and began to divest it of her clothes. And all the time her eyes went around the room, loving it because it was so right, whitewashed and simply furnished, and yet containing all that a person could ever need. It even had a fireplace, built across a corner of the room, in which a stack of logs were smoldering, and there was a basket containing more logs alongside the hearth, so that one could replenish it oneself, keeping it going all night if need be. She thought of going to sleep by firelight, and it seemed, all at once, the most romantic thing in the world.

The innkeeper arrived behind her, bearing the last of her bags. He put them down and shut the door behind him as he left.

She went to the window and drew the white linen curtains back, and saw there were other lights, from sitting rooms and bedrooms. She made her way, slowly, back to the bed, and put on a nightdress of thin, white lawn edged with lace. She lowered herself onto the pillow and yawned, her pale hair spread across it like strands of primrose-colored silk.

The cold night air flew in through the open window, and in the hearth the fire burned steadily, and its flicker and glow were reflected in patterns of light on the low, white ceiling. Kayleigh lay there in the tranquil knowledge—as calming as a sedative—that nothing this perfect could ever go wrong.

She was suddenly, intensely, wide awake, disoriented, with no idea where she was meant to be. She saw the wide window, and beyond it, the sky – pale, pristine, and cloudless. The outline of the buildings was sharp as glass, the hills beyond touched by the first rays of the rising sun. Clauden. Clauden, probably at its best. It looked as if it were going to be a beautiful day. Perhaps she could take a walk to the pier.

Diane. School. Emerson Park University. Today she was going to write to her mother's agent.

Just like that, while she slept, her mind, perhaps realizing that Kayleigh was capable of dithering about this problem indefinitely, had apparently made itself up. The letter would be written this morning, posted at the earliest opportunity.

The form of the letter began to frame itself. I am writing to let you know that I am well and very happy.

Kayleigh raised herself on her elbow and looked out the window again. She loved Clauden. Love and fear could not share the same place. She was not afraid of it. She got out of bed and dressed herself. She climbed down the stairs to forage for breakfast.

Treize and Bear recently rented the room. They kept the room mainly the way it was. Treize's side was mostly neat and orderly. While Bear side had an open suitcase and clothes thrown everywhere.
