Wesley had done something that he hadn't done very often in the past and went to the desert. He slept a lot lately, not sure what else to do with his useless arm in a permanent sling and his broken heart that could never heal. He was close to giving up hope on finding Raphael, who seemed to be hiding or had left town, and he hadn't seen too much of his cousins.

The desert seemed to calm him and he wasn't exactly sure of the reason. Maybe it was because it didn't remind him of his life at all. He had no memories here. Nothing to remind him of Alexandrea or of his mistakes and the things he would never have again.

Still... the lack of distractions was unsettling. The last thing he wanted to do was start thinking.

Elaina skipped through the desert. She couldn't remember why she had come to the desert in the first place. With the damage to her memory, Elaina couldn't remember much of anything, long term or short term. It was all for the best. There was nothing in the desert that interested her, but she was there anyway.
As Elaina made her way back toward the town she came across a man that she thought looked familiar, but she couldn't quite place him. Elaina couldn't place anyone anymore. Hours after they told her their name she'd only forget them again.

"Who might you be?" Elaina asked as she caught up with the man. "You look unhappy... unhappy isn't good, sir." She said as if Wesley didn't already know. Elaina giggled, her mentality lowered to that of a mere child. "Whatcha out here for?"

"Who might you be?"

Wesley stopped walking and turned to face his greeter. "Ms. West?" he said quizically. "What... are you okay?"

He thought back for a moment. He could have sworn that Elaina was dead. Then it hit him. The science show.
But something was wrong. She didn't know him and her personality was all wrong.

"You look unhappy... unhappy isn't good, sir."

Stunned, Wesley ignored this and continued walking with no destination.

"Whatcha out here for?"

"Because," he said over his shoulder. "There is no reason for me not to be. I really have no place anywhere, so why not be here? It's as good as anywhere else."

"It's also just as bad as anywhere else. You see? No matter where ya go... if you're unhappy you're STILL going to be unhappy." Elaina said with somewhat of a smile. "You think you don't belong anywhere, but I bet there's somewhere that you're meant to be." Elaina was somehow interested in the strange man she couldn't remember.
Suddenly Elaina giggled. "You know... I that's the biggest load of bs I remember saying." she said as she shook her head. "Coarse I don't 'member saying anything until now. I got a few blank spots there." She said, pointing to her head.

"It's also just as bad as anywhere else. You see? No matter where ya go... if you're unhappy you're STILL going to be unhappy."

Wesley nodded. This was true. This seemed to be similar to what he had just said, but it almost seemed like Elaina was contradicting him. Weird.

"You think you don't belong anywhere, but I bet there's somewhere that you're meant to be."

"You think?" he responded. Well, if he was meant to be somewhere, it most certainly wasn't here. It wasn't New York either.

"You know... I that's the biggest load of bs I remember saying. Coarse I don't 'member saying anything until now. I got a few blank spots there."

This caused Wesley to again stop walking abruptly. He turned to Elaina and looked at her. "Do you... remember what could have happened to you? Is there any way that your memory can be restored?"
