« Thread started on: Aug 4th, 2010, 01:26am »

Sicilia sat cross-legged staring out into the desert. She wondered where she had been for such a long time. It felt like life had gotten a hold of her, and still she felt as though she completed nothing in her time away from Clauden. What was she attempting to do? She couldn't think of much, but she was glad to be back in town wondering how much it had changed in her absence.

Her eyes seemed vacant in her thoughts. The world around her had been swallowed in her own world. Her thoughts swirling faster and faster. Where was everyone anyway? Was something major going on in town or even the outskirts? Probably. It wasn't an ordinary day in Clauden if there wasn't something spectacular, whether good or bad, was going on. Just the way Sicilia liked it.

A small sigh escaped her pale lips.

Coincidentally, Francesca had also been in the desert that day. Her hair was pulled back away from her face, and she was wearing something much more simple than her usual attire, lest the dirt cling to it. She looked quite unlike herself.
Noticing Sicilia, Francesca stopped. She bit her bottom lip. What could someone like her be doing out in a place like this? Opening up her sun parasol, Francesca approached from behind.
"Hello," she said, in the friendliest manner she could manage. "What brings you out here?"
Francesca couldn't deny it anymore; she wasn't just bored with Clauden. She was lonely.

The sudden voice from behind startled Sicilia for sure. She jumped up and spun on her heel to see who was addressing her. "Oh, hello, Francesca correct?" she replied giving a quick curtsy.

She looked around confused to her question. Was it strange for her to be in the desert by herself? Probably.

"I was just thinking. Wondering what the Claudenites have been up to in my absence," she shrugged, "And yourself?"

"Oh, were you gone somewhere? You haven't missed much. Just, you know, the usual," Francesca said. "I'm just... I don't know. Taking a walk, I guess. Getting out of the house. I don't do it too much anymore."
She squinted off into the distance, twirling her parasol.
"It's really a good thing you didn't marry Hellister, you know. From what I hear, he's gone way off the deep end these days. Or has he always been that way without my noticing? He's such a dreadful bore that I never pay much attention."

"No, I was here, just really busy in the shop," she smiled. A walk. A walk is always a wonderful way to entertain oneself she supposed. Her eyes followed the twirl of the parasol as Francesca talked.

She opened her mouth to retort at the mention of Hellister, but she brought up a good point. He may have always been insane. In hindsight, it sure seems like that. "Dull?" she asked.

Did she say Hellister was dull?

"Well, you know, just a little predictable in some ways, I guess. But maybe that only comes from knowing him so well. Like Clauden. I hear something's going on at the mine again," Francesca said. "I don't know why my father still thinks he can make this town into anything."
She turned to Sicilia and smiled before abruptly changing the subject.
"Is it true that there's a new sheriff? Relatively new, anyhow."

"Yes, I heard that rumor around town," Sicilia nodded, "What of the group that was supposed to be fighting crime behind authority. The Clauden vigilantes or something?"

Dionysus watched the pair from over a sandy hill. He gazed down and upon studying the forms with his stone eyes. He soon realized that none of these were the cunning Mr. Jones. Dionysus scurried down the hill cautiously approaching the group. The stealthy Dionysus often used his stone form to his advantage by staying close to the ground almost disquising himself as a moving gray rock. He pulled himself across the ground until he was close enough to hear Sicilia and Francesca talking. He often had eavesdropped n conversations before. Almost like a praying mantis he would await the prey to slip and then Dionysus would approach at the most vunerable. Which would mean Dionysus would finnally gain another to task to rend his mind from worrying about Mr. Jones safety.

"Oh yeah," Francesca said. She shrugged her shoulders. "I dunno. I mean, I've heard some stuff, but I don't really pay attention to it all that much. If I had to guess, I would say they were somehow involved with the mine. Weren't they last time?"
She wrinkled her brow and turned around, and saw a rock that looked strange but not much else. Turning her attention back to Sicilia, she said,
"I thought I heard a noise."

Sicilia blinked. "The mines? Is there something going on at the mines again? And the vigilantes are involved?" she questioned worry rising in her voice. She followed Francesca's gaze and shrugged. "I thought I heard something as well."

((OOC: Sorry sorry sorry!!! x_x))

"Yeah, well..." Francesca paused. "I guess it would be typical of someone here to ask if you wanted to go check it out, but I'm not sure I really want to." She looked pointedly at Sicilia, waiting for her response. She knew that the French boy was involved with the vigilantes, and she knew that Sicilia was involved with the French boy.
