Mr. Jones stood outside the mine. Older one man had followed him from town. Mr. Jones stood in front of the mine. "Hank you worked on this cave right?" Mr. Jones looked into the empty void. A pistol was in his pocket ready for use.

"sure did....lots of gold is still their can almost smell it from here...strange things have happened in this there cave...compasses stopped working once it neared the desert area" Hank shook his head. "shut it down cuz it was too dangerous people getting lost and eating eachother what I've heard...you sure you wanna go look for some gold?" Hank asked curiously holding the lamp and squinting his eyes to see into the dark void.

"I sure am ready to get that gold" Mr. Jones said. "lets move on in" Mr. Jones walked inside first. He had lied to dear good old Hank. We're looking for gold he was looking for the light. He was looking for that thing. He continued moving deeper into the darkness. "HANK HURRY UP!!!!" Mr. Jones said impatiently.

Hank was spooked by the look of the cave. "look take the lantern I'm leaving this is too dangerous....." Hank handed it to Mr. Jones and walked away quickly.

Mr. Jones looked at him and continued to walk inside. His eyes adjusted to the darkness. But for some reason their was a strange feeling of warmth in the cave. Like it had been heated recently. Mr. Jones had walked from around 10 minutes going through the maze like cave. The sound of his own comforting voice and memories kept him going.

The light turned out and Mr. Jones cursed so loud. He swore that he was going to die. He smashed the lantern against the ground. Sitting down expecting someone to here or see him. Or maybe an animal to kill him.

Serena's father had asked her to get some rocks from the mines so that Rowena could work on some landscaping for their home. At first Serena had protested, not wanting to help Rowena with anything, but eventually her father pressured her into accepting. She walked along the liens of the cave, running her hand along the wall and shifting her feet so that she didn't fall into an unexpected hole.

Serena's eyes widened as she thought she head a noise. "Oh no." she breathed under her breath as she froze. She didn't know what was in the mines, but she was sure that she wanted to gather the rocks and get out of there. As if Rowena couldn't have any other rock than rocks from the mines.

Another sound startles Serena. Voices. A man rushed paster in an instant, not even realizing that she was there. Must have been scared. Suddenly she head a rather loud curse word and the smashing of a lantern near her.

"Hello?" Serena forced out in her soft, timid voice. "Is anyone there?" The darkness scared her. She was onyl 18. Too young to die!

Jones crawled away from the voice. His very mind wrapped on the light. The sound of his crawl's could be heard throughout the cave. As the glass of the lantern cut into his bare hands. He moved around a foot down. When he saw the light. The mystereous light showed himself illuminating the part of the tunnel that he was in. The light blinded his eyes and destroyed any doubt that he was insane. He heard the voice of it. A deep metallic voice speaking a phrase. He couldnt understand. The light moved forward deforming his body from the sight of anyone in the cavern. He felt his hair burning. He felt a stinging on the back of his neck. When all of a sudden.

He screamed in terror. The light disappeared fading away leaving Mr. Jones scrambling against the cave wall crying. He felt his hair. Which seemed to feel old and faded. He diddnt know if it was still their. Or if he had been killed by the light. "help me" Mr. Jones said calmly. "help me" He repeated.

Serena tried to make her way toward where she thought the sounds had been coming from, but there was nothing. "Hello?" she called. The sounds seemed to be getting farther away. Serena decided to try her luck and felt along the wall of the mines to try and follow the sounds. The rock left scrapes on her hand, but it was too dark around her for Serena to notice that.

"help me"

Serena's eyes widened as she walked on some shards of broken glass. Finally she looked up and saw what she thought was a man there on the ground. Serena dropped what rocks she had gathered for Rowena and rushed toward the man.
"Are you okay?" Was the first thing that came to Serena's mind. She couldn't think of anything else to ask him, even though it was apparent whoever it was could not have been okay at all.

"can....you get...me out of here" Mr. Jones said weakly. His voice seemed to drift off near the end. He coughed abit. He reached his hand and felt the back of his neck. It was hot. His neck was hot. But he diddnt feel the pain. What had happened to him. Was it all in his mind. Who was this woman that was talking to him. "please guide me out" Mr. Jones said reaching his hand out into the darkness.

"please guide me out"

Serena nodded quickly, though she was sure that the man couldn't see it, and she reached out instinctively to see if the man was really there or if she were just hallucinating that there was a man there. Finally she felt a hand and grabbed it.
"Okay." She said timidly, "I'll do my best." She waited until he had time to stand. Serena drew in a deep breath and with her free hand felt for the side of the mines. She took a step forward and nearly slipped, but lickily she caught herself before she could fall.

"I can barely see in here." Serena told the man, all of a sudden to scared to stay in her social haven. She peered ahead, trying to see where the mouth of the mines opened up. There was a tiny light, but only a tiny one. She didn't realize that she had come so far in.

Jones felt himself guided by the warmth of a womans hand. That was when he peered up the cave and saw the tiny light. He quickly broke down into something that he had never wanted to see again. "the the light" said asJones felt himself freaking out a bit. He began sweating despite how cold the cave was. "who who are you? where am I?" Mr. Jones asked he quickly forgot why was he in the cave. Why was he in the cave. Why was he down here. Why was he in the cave. Why was he in the cave. "why did you bring me here?" Mr. Jones asked franitically.

"why did you bring me here?"

Serena was confused. What was this man talking about? "I didn't bring you here, sir." She explained quietly. "I just found you here, and you asked me to lead you out." She said. Serena stared forward, continuing toward the light. "I think we're almost out."
Actually, Serena wasn't sure. The man was starting to really freak her out. She wasn't sure what to think of him.

Mr. Jones was blinded by the light of the outside. This cant be his world. It just cant be. For one this place seemed too light. He quickly came to the conclusion that the light had eaten him. That he was stuck in some crazy interdimensional world. "has it always been this bright outside" Mr. Jones asked quietly. He looked at Serena curiously. Attempting to find some glitch in this world. This clearly fake world.

"has it always been this bright outside"

"Only during the day." Serena answered cautiously. "Other than that... night is pretty dark." SHe wasn't sure if this man had just hit his head really hard, or if he really didn't know there was a day and a night. That didn't seem possible. Maybe he had just forgotten? Serena couldn't be sure.
As they began to draw closer to the outside Serena felt a little more relieved.

Mr. Jones diddnt understand a single think she said. To him it sounded like non sense. His mind logically thought of a way to make things better.
Everything is happy
Everything is happy
Everything is happy
He thought to himself as he exited the cave. He shut his eyes expecting for the sun to burn his face and skin off. He scratch the back of his neck still. "what town is this?" Mr. Jones asked trying to trip the lights up.

"This is Clauden." Serena explained as they finally reached the mouth of the mines. The light outside made her wince since her eyes had become so used to the darkness. She let go of the man's hand and walked out further a few more steps, lifting her hands above her head and finally resting the hands on the back of the head.

"my name is Frank" Mr. Jones said his voice seemed a bit shakey. The sun seemed to beat down on his face making him twitch nervously. That was when Mr. Jones heard the gurgling noise in the back of his head. He turned around quickly looking into the cave. "you hear that?" He then heard that gurgling noise again this time behind him. He looked at Serena. Knowing full well that he wasnt home just yet.

"my name is Frank"

"I'm Serena." She said politely as she brushed bits of dust off her clothes. 'Yuck...' she thought as she wrinkled her nose slightly. Serena turned back to Frank and tilted her head. "It's nice to----"

"you hear that?"

"Uhhhh..... no." Serena said as she shook her head. "I didn't hear anything." she admitted. Serena was a little confused. This Frank person seemed a little too paranoid.
