« Thread started on: Feb 23rd, 2010, 6:53pm »

Genesis felt the crazy notion move through her as she thought of the words from the gentlemen at that bar. It was craving for her to investigate as she wondered if what she was doing was right. Could she simply speak to this...thing and figure out what it was it wanted? It was hard to tell what words she would speak...if she was able to speak...as she paused some fifty feet away as the sun began to set, casting a fearsome shadow toward the entrance of the mine making her wonder why she had not had someone accompany her.

Swallowing, and donned in a riding outfit (the closest she could get to an exploration outfit without sullying her dresses), Genesis lift her lantern and starting walking forward believing she may have heard something.

"Hello? Does anyone reside here?" she asked at the mouth of the entrance, the fear already running through her as if she should not have came.

Dionysus gazed into the mine entrance from a distance. He lifted his wine bottle up and willed that the alchohal turned int a strong form of whiskey. He chugged the refreshing whiskey for about a minute. That's when he turned around almost expecting to see that Mr. Jones had built the cabin he had requested. That would be simply heartbreaking for Dionysus. He looked back at the mine and began to walk inside. He saw the light from Genesis and stood still attempting to disguise himself as some sort of statue. Perhaps Genesis was a spy for Mr. Jones. He could never be too sure. Dionysus thought that the fact that he was made of white rock would be a brillant disguise in the mine. It worked on the drunken persian soldiers in Greece. Than again Dionysus barely understood the logic a sober mind often had. In fact Dionysus could barely even remember having a sober mindset.

Just the mere thought of hearing something sorta make a sound, Genesis felt the fear creeping into her limps. Swallowing once more, she peaked her light into as she willed her dark brown booted legs more into the mine as her dark brown gloved had started to shake with the lantern.

"I swear, I must be falling for old men's tales," Genesis muttered to herself as she started to straighten up and find her courage as she pressed onward slowly. Looking over the beams and noticed as she moved deeper how they had buckled as if the mine had collapsed before. Feeling pathetic for falling for the stories and the hope for adventure, Genesis turned on her heel giving a musical laugh as her eyes feel on a statue. Again she chuckled and stood before it, her bright green eyes looking it over with an amused smile crossing her lips. "I am sure they were both too drunk, and believed this statue to be a 'devil' in disguise. How could someone not look at this as a beautiful piece of art?"

Now, she was musing over the fact of whether she should take the statue home since it looked as if no one was claiming it as property. But then again, she wasn't known to be a thief. If she were to take it, she would make posters to make sure if someone were to come claim it, they would have to describe it to a 't' in order to get it. Pushing onto her tip-toes, she gazed at the statue continuously before finally running a smooth gloved had over the work on the top of the head, leading down the side of the face, under the chin, and stopping at the shoulder.

"Simply beautiful..." she breathed softly, wrinkling her brow as she stayed close, touching the arm and smelling wine. Wrinkling her brow in disappointment, she let out a sigh, taking a step back and taking a seat on the dirt ground while placing the lantern next to her. This place felt peaceful, as if she could stay forever. "I wish I could you home with me, it would be such a waste to leave you with the drunks who don't appreciate you."

Giving a soft sigh, she felt crazy speaking to the statue. If only they could talk...

"He---he he diddnt sent you did he" Dionysus said quickly letting out a sigh of relief. He stumbled forward and placed his cold rock hand on Genesis's left shoulder. That's when he began to laugh in her face at the whole situation. As he laughed the smell of alcohal seemed to become more apparent and smelled like fresh greek wine.

"I know Mr. Jones wouldnt send...a insane person to find me--he dont know much about that.. women are awful with information imagine them being insane" Dionysus stumbled backwards and fell backwards onto his back. Perhaps the alchohal had finnally become too strong for Dionysus. He almost felt as if he was back floating in the ocean trying to find nothing new. The stone cold ground felt like gentle waves and if he could even smile he would have the large grin of a happy drunk.

Genesis was in complete shock. This, thing, was alive? It looked like a statue and...she was frozen in marvelation of this strange being. Could this be the devil? She was sure the men speaking said it was ashened playing furiously on a guitar of some sort. Watching it's movements, she listened and processed what it was it had said. Mr. Jones? Who was that? And the terribly rude thing it said about women. A noticeable frown rippled across her once bewildered look as her emerald gems sparkled with vengeance. Who the heck did this, thing, think he was?

"Just because I am a woman means that I am not intelligent enough to follow orders from Mr. Jones?" she asked, wondering what games should could play with that seemed like a drunken being. The alcohol was pungent to the nose as she hoped the smell of dirt would keep it from lingering in her nostrils. Letting her fingers flick at the lantern, a grin slowly spread as she produced a wink. "Actually, I find myself very much detached from the mentally liable especially since I came all the way out here to find a devil and instead ended up with...you."

Wondering if she was pushing fate, Genesis decided to play this folly in hopes it would better change his mind about women being intellectual creatures.

Dionysus stared at Genesis's lantern. He couldnt take his eyes off the blinding light. It seemed to drown any focus on any noise that came from that insane womans mouth. Just garbled noises that's all he could hear as the lantern seemed to dance through the mine. Bouncing off the cold mine walls revealing jagged cuts from being pounded in for gold. Dionysus realized long ago mother earth was truly into masochism and would even reward man's abuse. Dionysus began to weep unable to understand her cruel lack of desire towards him. That's when he remembered that crazy woman's prescense in the mines. He looked up at Genesis unable to pay attention to anything she had said except for her clever little taunt.

"Funny people once saw me as a blessing but devil that's what they call me now all I've done old gods become devils people become dirt funny" Dionysus said his voice hinted at feeling some deep sorrow about the whole thing. That was before he began to mumble nonsense under his breath. He stared up at the ceiling of the cave away from Genesis. Words spilled out of his mouth being carried under his alcohal poisoned breath. Fortunately Genesis couldnt hear any of it it was too low for her to make out his intricate wisdom.

Genesis felt pity hit her all at once. How could someone look at this as a devil? Although it was strange for a statue to talk, perhaps it was a curse of some sort? Was there a way to bring this man to life? Standing from her earthly seat, Genesis closed the distance between her at the man and crouched by his right side placing a tender hand on his stone shoulder.

"Dear man, is there a way I may help you? I do not see you as a devil or monster, but instead a blessing," her soft voice spoke, echoing softly in the distant chambers. Hopefully there was a way she could help, but fore-most she wondered what state of mind he was in. Would he accept her help?

"Come, be a guest at my home," she said, not wanting to stay in this place any longer.

Dionysus had drifted off into the trance of a drunk. He stared at the ceiling trapped in the gaze of the ceiling that seemed to not stop swaying. He reached his hands up attempting to touch the ceiling to stop it's movement. However his hands swiped at nothing and he laid back in vain. That's when he focused in on what Genesis was saying about inviting him to her house.

"Suuure beds are niice...what do you want" Dionysus said as kind as a slurring drunk could sound. He diddnt move after he just seemed paralyzed. As he waited patiently for Genensis's reply.

Genesis found herself bewilder at what he meant and seemingly shrugged it off. Moving to her feet, she gave a stretch and let out a sigh.

"If you wish a free place to sleep, you can follow. If not, stay here then," she said, picking up her lantern and started to walk away before pausing a moment at the entrance.

Dionysus watched the young women walk away. She was kind and generous. She would truly need a man like him around. So Dinoysus slowly attempted to stand up before falling forward and making a loud thud. He looked up as Genesis stopping at the cave entrance. He felt a sudden rush of energy. Some almost seemingly magnetic pull to not waste any time in this mine. So Dionysus lifted himself and crawled after Gensis anywhere but the mine.

Genesis could not stop the small smile from moving over her once serious demeanor. Letting out a small sigh, she set the lantern down once more and merrily moved toward where he crawled in her direction. Producing her slender gloved hand, she bent trying to keep her smile hidden.

"Let me help you, it will take a fortnight at that pace. I have a horse and wagon just ahead luckily," she replied almost musically.

Dionysus just laughed when he saw Genesis's hands appear out of the shadows to help him up. He diddnt bother gripping it. Dionysus wasnt the kind of thing that accepted help. No he never helped he only could help. He slowly stood up wobbling alittle before standing upright and swaying.

"I--dont need your charity--I can walk on my own" Dionysus snapped in anger. He raised his left arm and waved his fist in anger. He diddnt need her hand out's. He diddnt need anyone's hand outs.

Genesis let out a sigh, wicked thoughts of leaving him here penetrating her mind but she pushed them away. With someone as drunk as he was, she needed to have patience.

"I will meet you at the wagon," she simply replied and walked toward the entrance picking up her lantern on the way. Walking toward the wagon, she noticed how impatient the horse was waiting around while it's ebony ears perked at the light and sounds coming to it. Setting the lantern down on a hook to the side of the wagon, she clicked her tongue softly only for the animal to relax and give a shuttered breath in response. Patting the it on the back leg, Genesis climbed into the driver side of the wagon and relaxed patiently.

Dionysus wobbled and stumbled as he followed Genesis to the three carriage's that were in front of him. He bumped into the carriage at first snapping him out of his drunk stupor for a second. He slowly climbed up the carriage sitting next to Genesis he could help but chuckle at her.

"What was it you wanted again I get people what they want" Dionysus said kindly his cold statue face staring straight at her. Dionysus still gripped his cold wine bottle. He watched the three Genesis's prepared to listen to fufill any request.

Pulling the reins into her hand, she clicked her tongue and started the wagon as the mine was slowly beginning to be left behind. What did she want? It was hard to tell, but she never wanted anything or asked others for things. She found it rude instead of striving to get ahead in life on her own. Luck managed to find her when she had started to give up hope of moving forward. Being an orphan and trying to get an education was hard since the world only used most orphans for hard labor. Shaking her head, she let a soft smile grace her lips.

"I want to help you," she said softly, finding it true. Why was he was offering to get her what she wanted?
